SIXERS @ UTAH 9PM EST

Post#1 » by PH1LLYSFINEST13 » Mon Mar 25, 2013 11:13 pm

Tough to watch at this point in the season but I will keep my eyes on a few things tonight - Particularly the bigs in UTA. I want Al Jeff in the offseason personally. No interest in Milsap for me. I wanna see how Favors and Kanter play as well as those were guys I would have liked to have.

I say we lose in a close one , and get dominated on the boards.

One last note , I think Ive settled with the idea that we are picking somewhere between 8 and 11... Well see what comes of it. 13 games left... lets finish weak!

Real talk.

Random collapses aside...we have been playing really good (offensively at least....well as good as a **** team can play) lately.

Utah has been playing like garbage as Tyrone Corbin does his best Doug Collins impression and keep their youth on the bench because reasons.

Size or not.I could see us taking this one...Corbin is just that awful

Yeah...Us and Utah in a seven game series would be entertaining I guess. We are their level so I can see us getting a win. I'm going to tune in for this one via radio. I love the consistancy that Spencer Hawes has been playing with lately and he's made me think twice about us moving him in the offseason. Think he needs to stay at this point. Anyway...I'm prepared to see Damian go for 35 minutes again...Whatever...Win/lose doesn't matter to me at this point. Like always we are simply stuck as fans of this team. Learn to like it.

^ agree.

If Hawes can put together another impressive outing against solid bigs I'd be highly impressed.

One game aside, Hawes has had an amazing march. Agree that barring a good deal I think I may hold onto Hawes for another year. He's only 24 and is still developing as a big man.

We could do much worse.

Yeah but 24.....He's still a baby speaking in terms of bigs. Seems to me that he's just now scratching the surface of what he can become. The guy wasn't a lottery pick for nothing and I think at this point we got the better of that trade. Hawes is ready now...We just need another brute in the low post and a guard that can score and we will be fine moving forward.

I'm sorry but this seems like the bargaining step of denial.

I feel like I need to step in an stop this insanity! We're all of a sudden keeping Hawes? ET will be next when he strings together 3 good weeks. This dude (Hawes) sucks at defense and is soft as the pillsbury doughboy. Cmon SON!!

Call it what you want bro...You were the one that first mentioned that "we" have been playing well. I followed it up by saying that I liked what Hawes has been doing. Never said he was our savior, and I never said he was a franchise player. That guy was supposed to be Bynum yo. Can't deny that Hawes has been playing well and you can't hate because I have faith.

Look..Dude...Imma explain this one more time in the least amount of lines. We should keep Hawes....We need another big regardless...A pitbull someone that can offset all the bitchness of Hawes. We could do a lot worse than Hawes and I don't know what player you have been watching for the last month and a half but again...Can't deny that he's been flowing.

I don't hate at all. Or I try not to come off as one.....

I'm just saying it is difficult to advocate for a guy who has played like ass until the season was gone.

Dorell Wright has been balling lately too but the games no longer matter.

it's hard to re-up on guys who only perform when there is no pressure.

We could do a lot worse than Hawes sure...but we can do a lot better too.

I hope he does "get it" and this Hawes is what we get more often...i just dont see it.

I understand what youre saying , and I have been watching the past month , and Ive been watching all year.... So Hawes and his brilliant 1 month dont have me fully sold yet. Sorry Im a bit of a debbie downer but a mere 6 weeks ago we were all ready to trade hawes for a new cheer leader. I still have a prove it mentality.

Dude i'm only trying to find a hole through this forest of insanity. In no way am I trying to put a ton of faith in Hawes turning the corner but I am glad that he's played well and made the most of his opportunity. Still think we need to hold on to him though. As nice as Moultrie has been I don't see him being ready next season to take on a bigger role. Hawes is a vet at this point (a young one but a still a vet). Any chance that he really can get better? I guess thats what i'm trying to ask.

Well maybe Hawes can build on this strong run he's had in the offseason and keep it going next year. If he was able to do so would you still feel the same? For me if he's going 15/10 next year im good with it. Regardless though...we need a junkyard dog to bring some swag to that frontline.

I'm not buying Hawes at all.

But I do think he's still got some room to improve his game.
If he wasn't paired with an undersized combo 4, but a faired/Millsap type big, his weaknesses wouldn't be such an issue and he would be able to gamble a little more to block shots.

I'm not vouching for him as a savior either, but he certainly is a servicable big with upside.

Millsap and Jefferson are obviously the odd men out in Utah. They are going all in with Favors/Kanter+Tank next season. Either Millsap or Jefferson would be a great addition to our frontcourt.
