Mike Miller

Post#1 » by Sc0pe92 » Mon Mar 25, 2013 3:59 am

So we all know Mike is declining fast and rarely gets playing time and has a good chunk of our cap space. What would be those most logical thing for MM this offseason... Do we keep him? Do we use our Amnesty? Do we trade? Does he retire?

I could see MM being asked to return and Riley telling him to have one more season. MM retiring this off-season, Joel being Amnesty and Heat resigning Birdman!

I'm pretty sure Mike gets amnestied after this season.

If Miller retires he's going to go on an injury-leave, which I believe will still count against the cap and we will have to pay the duration of his contract still.

Miller would have definitely retired after last season, but after winning the championship, leaving the team retiring while still getting paid would have made him look douchey.. he probably had an agreement with Riley/Spo that he won't retire but wants to be on very limited minutes till the playoffs.

it is what it is honestly.. regardless of what we do with his contract, Arison is still stuck paying Miller whether it's amnesty or injury retirement.

Quote from Mike Miller:

"“As long as that stays the way it is, I have a few years after this year left on my contract and if I feel like I can help teams or this team, which I feel I can right now, then I’ll be playing. If not, I’ll make the decision and be completely happy.”"

Sounds like he doesn't think he'll be back, but his back is healthy and he wants to play.

So that means we will amnesty him. It makes a lot of sense.

They may amnesty him to lessen the amount of luxury tax we have to pay. That is if he is done. I think the playoffs will be indicative of whether or not he has value anymore. Have they been saving him? I'm not sure he has an impact but he could get hot and win us a game or two.

Zero chance miller retires. Why would he? Would you rather lose 12 million dollars or get paid 12 million dollars?

If he can get his back healthy again I think he can be a real solid piece. Spo just never plays him, last night I thought he looked good but his shot is off since he hasnt seen game time in forever.

I guess his back is still recovering? I don't think he's going to leave anyways and the samething for Joel Anthony.

I think given more playing time and let his shot get back in rhythm he can be really good. His defense tonight wasnt that great but I think he was just scared to get blown by, but like Ray Allen if he makes his 3s his defense doesnt matter too much.

he still has game. rebounds great. still a deadly shooter. more reliable ball handler than ray allen. hes just injury prone and not that good of a defender. id keep him and anthony and look to trade them as expirings after next season

His body already retired.

He cant really defend anyone anymore but he might make some big plays in playoffs. I dont believe he'll be here next year.
