1080 is below average for sure. not terrible, but not very impressive

No. Back then the SAT was out of 1600 and I believe Kobe scored around the 67%th or something percentile. So he is above average by quite a bit, but most definitely not elite. Good for an athlete I guess.

What's more impressive to me is Shane Battier's 3.5 GPA from Duke which is an ivy league university and Brandon Knight's 4.0 GPA in college.

Whiie it is a fine school, Duke is not an Ivy League school

You take the ACTs in Ohio not the SATs

I'm from Ohio and I took the SAT. Of course, that was some time ago.

enough to play basketball.

In all seriousness, it doesnt matter if he took it or not. Rightfully, he had no interest in college and it just would of hurt him. Only an idiot would recommend Lebron spend even a day in college in his situation. Maybe after the NBA if he wants.

Not taking anything away from Battier because he's definitely a genius by NBA standards but it's usually a lot easier to get good grades from Ivy league and Ivy league like schools such as Duke due to grade inflation over there.

That's terrible tbh. Wasnt a smart one was he?

Kobe's is above average right?

I know you probably know, or maybe not, but there isn't a direct correlation between "being smart" and having academic "success".
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

xxRoyalexx wrote:Just so you all know, the reported 870 score that the genius in this thread found is from Wikianswers.com. Meaning that, someone asked what Bron scored on the test, and any random person can reply with whatever BS information they have without providing sources. And the hilarity is that everyone in this thread is dumb enough to take that info and run with it. Links:

Honestly, LeBron comes off as fairly intelligent to me. He's well spoken, a good family man, and an excellent businessman. On top of that Duke was courting him to play college ball so his grades had to have been pretty proper. I doubt he took either his SAT or ACT knowing that his future was already set, but if he did I could easily see him scoring above average.

I'm glad you caught that too  . I mentioned it on page 2

Anway LeBron doesn't come off as intelligent to me, nor well spoken. If I had to guess what he scored on the ACT I'd say it was around 15-16

Btw I'm noticing people who have Miami Heat signatures seem to be getting defensive in this thread for some reason

Maybe it's not 100% but it's pretty close. If you're a smart guy and you think the system is total BS and meaningless you're still going to achieve academic success because you know you need to jump through those hoops to get ahead in life. Yeah of course there are some exceptions like your neighbor with the 145 IQ who chooses to work as a waiter because he doesn't care for a life of materialism but the majority of smart people do well academically.

And i'm not sure whether the test has changed, but the SAT was originally intended to be an aptitude test, sort of like an IQ test that measures your general intelligence, not what you learned in school.

There are currently 10 threads on the front page of the general board that have to do with LeBron or the Heat.

It doesn't matter what the Cowardly Lion scored on his SAT. As soon as he failed a few courses in a row, he just would've quit and joined a another school.

I don't get it. What's the point of this thread and why is it 6 pages long?

I think it's pretty obvious what the point is. I want to know what LeBron scored on the ACT or SAT because it peaked my curiosity the other day.

Your SAT scores are irrelevant if you don't show up for finals.
