WTF? Jarvis Jones 4.9/Manti 4.8

Post#1 » by LAKESHOW » Fri Mar 22, 2013 3:24 pm

Possibly the most scrutinized prospect in the 2013 draft pool, Jones ran the 40-yard dash in 4.92 seconds and leaped 30.5 inches in the vertical jump and 9 feet, 3 inches in the broad jump. He completed 20 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press -- a total that would have tied for 16th among linebackers at the combine.

Yeah...he really stunk up the joint.

Combined with his spinal stenosis, this might sink him out of the first round completely.

Speed a lot more important for pass rushers than ILBs. Don't forget that Jones is 24 and not exactly noted as a student of the game as well.

Jarvis didn't go to the combine. it was just pro day at UGA. only a very slight concern for me, because all the UGA players didn't have good 40 times because it was on a bad field on a cold day in Athens.

but with that said, everybody knows that Jarvis isn't a speedster. Ogletree is the one of the two that has the Urlacher speed. Jarvis always reminded me of James Harrison or Terrell Suggs than anybody else.

WE KNOW OF HIS GAME OUT HERE ON THE WEST COAST! He started for us!

But that is the difference with Georgia and USC. We prepare our guys for the next level. Georgia coaches and brass, just sat back and said, ah, what the heck, you dont need to do anything else, your good to go.

Again, he is good to go, because we seen him here at USC, and he started. However, thats when the workouts become more intense and hard work is pushed out here for our guys on the west coast.

DUDE LOOKS LIKE HE GAINED WEIGHT AND DIDNT DO ANYTHING! Thats on those boys from georgia and their training regimen down south.

LOL, that's right,.... USC produces some of the worst NFL players of any other school. I think they even produce more bust and scrubs than Texas.

UGA does a good job at producing Pro Bowlers, the SEC in general just produces the best NFL players of anybody else.

Wow, i totally forgot about Matt Leinart  . I don't even know who Mike Williams is . Leinart and Sanchez, kinda puts the buga boo on Matt Barkley now. Now that i think about it, i really can't think of any significant USC player. Carson Palmer was okay back in the day, it wasn't his fault his team sucked, and i guess Clay Matthews is doing pretty good. USC is such a great program, i wonder why their guys have a hard time making it in the NFL.

But yeah, Dawgs do great at producing NFL players, AJ Green, Champ Baily, Richard Seymour, Marcus Stroud, Tim Jennings, Ellerbe, Chris Clemons, Hines Ward, etc.....

Dawgs really do know how to produce NFL players, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

USC guys that I can think of off the top of my head are: Clay Matthews, Brian Cushing, Carson Palmer, Sam Baker, Ryan Kalil, Matt Kalil, Tyron Smith, Steve Smith, Terrell Thomas, Reggie Bush, Troy Polamalu. I'm sure I missed a lot of others who are still playing.

USC may have a lot of players who end up being high draft picks and end up being busts or career backups, but I don't see how that's any worse than the hordes of "major" NCAA football programs who only produce an NFL starting caliber or Pro Bowl caliber player once every decade. (I can't even believe that as an Oregon fan, I'm defending USC lol).

Thank you dawg. You are defending USC, because in the end, after droppin the HATERade on USC, they'll begin to talk trash about the rest of the conference. Props for recognizing that my brotha! And secondly, USC had a NFL talent like jones already committed and playing. BUT IT WAS USC WHO LOOKED AT THE LONG TERM BETTERMENT AND WELFARE OF INDIVIDUAL, NOT GEORGIA! Georgia just said tthe heck with the kids spinl stenosis or whatever, we can win games and save my coach richt from being fired!!
Ahahaha....now who truly are the lowlifes here. The desperate dawgs of the sec? Or the TROJANS who truly had the LOVE for the kid, lookin out for his best interests! The SHOW, DROPPIN KNOWLEDGE! Drink and enjoy!

as for Sam Baker, no he is not significant..... as a Falcons' fan, he has been a huge disappointment since he got to ATL. Falcons just made a huge mistake with Baker. :(

Polamalu is pretty good, but everybody else is forgettable.

How is Tyron Smith forgettable? How are Mat and Ryan Kalil forgettable? How is Clay Mathews (former DPOY) forgettable?

Tyron and Matt will be Pro-Bowlers in the future, Ryan already is one. Brian has gone to the Pro-Bowl, Clay was DPOY, Carson Palmer was a fixture in Cincy for some time- and made the all-pro team during his stead, Lofa Tatupu was looking like a great ILB in Seattle before injuries derailed his career, and Fred Davis- when healthy- is one of the better TE's in the NFL......

I don't even like USC, but to say that USC hasn't produced any good players recently or that most of its players are "forgettable" is just silly....

Matt Kalil already is a Pro-Bowler, not just a future one.
