What a letdown that was, I really wanted them to break the record. Oh well. Decent game from Lebron tonight, but I wish he was more consistently aggressive in the 2nd half, definitely could've been the difference.

Hopefully this doesn't send the Heat into a slump, the streak clearly kept them motivated for a while. Would be really nice to see them rebound strong from this loss and win against NO and SA, HCA throughout the playoffs isn't locked up yet at all.

Speaking of rebounding, they've still got some major problems on that front that was covered up during the streak. More minutes for Birdman probably would've helped, and god, is Haslem washed up or what? Dude was awful tonight in the 10 minutes he played.

Why can't Deng hold Lebron anymore? Is it his wrist that is bad or what? He used to do a decent job on him.

When? Lebron's torn him up for as long as I can remember.

He's scored like 8 pts (2 breakaway dunks) and 2 rebs as of now in the 2nd half, I'd like him to dominate from start to finish for a change...

Wait until the playoffs, because he did do that in the 2012 playoffs.

It is pretty typical for a champion to coast the following the season. I'm not going to fault him for not going all out constantly in regular season games especially when he just won a title. He literally did everything for his team last season and didn't even have a single bad game in the playoffs. It is not asking a whole lot to get some breaks in the regular season.

On a different note, that was the 3rd flagrant foul of Lebron's career. Didn't expect that one.

When was the first? Don't remember seeing one before.

He was super frustrated at that point in the game, you could tell he really wanted the streak to continue. Was more visibly frustrated than I've seen him in a long time.

ESPN has him listed as having 2 in the 07 season. I can't remember either of them off the top of my head.

Hell yeah, I'm interested to see how he approaches the last 11 games now. He was pissed, he was barking at Wade and Spoelstra at one point as well.

Yeah, JVG said they were arguing over some defensive rotations, it was right after a play where Wade closed out late on Deng who hit the three (not that it was necessarily Wade's fault).

While I usually hate these kind of cliche narratives, it seems like Lebron's grown into more of a leader this year. I just can't picture Bron yelling at Wade/Spo in the '11 season.

Also interesting that he got those 2 flagrants in '07, it was a clear down year, I wonder if that was a frustrating season for him.

From the GB

NBA TV ‏@NBATV 2m
"It's been happening all season & I've been able to keep my cool. But it's getting to me." - @KingJames on fouls

He's clearly aware of it. It's inexplicable to me, seeing as he's very clearly attacking the basket far more this season than he has in at least the past 2, and his FGA within 10ft are at their highest point since 2008.

Definitely not a bad idea to draw attention to it (it was a Phil Jackson special), it's really been bizarre how unwilling the officials have been to whistle fouls for him, maybe the league office will look at it (I mean, he is the face of the NBA right now). Even tonight, there were some drives and finishes where he got hacked with no call, and there was a super late whistle where Hinrich blatantly fouled him and the ref waited until the shot missed to call the foul.

He deserves a fine for that.

I had to miss the second half due to prior commitments. What happened in the game that made him so aggravated? Akin to 2010 lebron?

Over everything? Just the fact that he lost. It's hard to do so after getting used to winning night-in-night-out for 2 months. Beyond that, general frustration he always has with the lack of calls, missed rotations by teammates, etc.

Not sure what you're referring to by 2010 Lebron though.

Is there any explanation for 2007? It's the only year where he's statistically regressed in his whole career. The irony of it all was the fact that he made his first finals that year... Weird.

The offseason prior to that one was when he first put on weight and essentially got the body he has now, so there was an adjustment curve, particularly with his shooting, which progressed from 03-06, regressed in 07 and 08 and then shot back up in 09.

Second, that was the first season he took defense seriously, and became an impact defender (not quite at post 08 Olympics level yet), so there was a learning curve there as well. More attention to defense led to weaker offensive numbers. On that note though, check out the 07 run through the Eastern Conference again, he was playing some legit defense that postseason. A BIG part of the reason Cleveland progressed to the Finals in the first place was their defense complimenting Lebron's offense, and for the first time in his career, HE was a major part of that.

Thanks for the insight as always SideshowBob.

This just goes to show how phenomenal Lebron is.

His Peak and Prime and basically the same thing...this is incredible.

Splitting hairs is the best way to describe comparing his seasons so thanks for the analysis.

I am glad he finally spoke out about the non-calls and hacking issues.

Everyone will eventually lose his cool and especially someone who is getting disrespected like this. And if he loses his cool once, it will result in a bad things for him, for his target, for his team and for the whole league.

His team needs to have his back though. When the game gets physical and hard fouls are committed, it's Miami's job to fight fire with fire and retaliate a little bit, otherwise they'll just lose possessions by being bullied and get frustrated. They were clearly pushed around by the Bulls the whole game and didn't do anything, just stood there and took it until LeBron finally flipped. The problem here is that Miami has no big rugged guys except LeBron... Wade can't afford to be tossed, he is too important to the team. Bosh is softer than baby powder, Chalmers doesn't intimidate anyone and then you have a bunch of weak senior citizens. There's too many soft guys on the team, you can't be soft against the Bulls... that's why they always have problems winning against them even when they're missing key guys.
