Honestly I don't know how anyone didn't see this coming years ago. Brandon's personality, demeanor, attitude, and basketball i.q. were clearly lacking from the start. I'm glad everyone sees the truth now, but it was evident years ago. I'm as much of a rebuilder as anyone, perhaps more so, and I've always wanted the Bucks to go young. But you still have to be discerning - you can't just assume you should build around any young player just because he has a few big games. Sometimes they're worth more in trade value. Other times, they're just good enough to win you some games and cost you draft position without having enough upside to take you any further. And the idea that Brandon had a lot of upside was always one of the biggest myths on this board. He had big games by shooting too much. Every once in while, they went in. But it was never sustainable. It never had any real promise of turning into something meaningful. You can't just look at box scores for young players. A lot of people here are fond of making fun of people who watch box scores, but they don't take their own advice when it comes to young players because their attraction to youth and the hope it brings makes it hard for them to be rational. Scouting plays a role, too, and Brandon has always demonstrated poor instincts and a lack of a strategic approach to winning. This sulking is just the result of him realizing he's not the player he thought he was. It's too bad that's the way he's dealing with it, but a lot of people have made him out to be something he's not so I don't completely blame him, especially at his age, for having some difficulty in dealing with the cognitive dissonance.
It's too late to get anything of value in a trade. I hope he accepts the QO and tells the Bucks he's leaving next year no matter what, which would finally force these idiots to trade him in spite of their own stupidity.
