I disagree with the thought that at a certain point Rose's comeback should be ruled out. Playing any NBA basketball would be a huge benefit for his psyche over the summer. Even if it's just 10 minutes in the last playoff game of the year I believe there would be benefit.

Yep, that would be silly imo, but both Pax and Rose have said there is no arbitrary drop-dead date.
10 games is better than 5 games is better than 1 game is better than half a game...all are better than zero minutes played.

Danny Granger out for the season with knee surgery...
The Indiana Pacers announced Thursday that forward Danny Granger will miss the remainder of the season to undergo surgery on his left knee.
The decision was made after all conservative treatment options could not alleviate the soreness Granger encountered. After consultation between Granger, the Pacers' medical staff and Dr. James Andrews, surgery became the preferred option.
Granger underwent a procedure in late October for patellar tendinosis. He returned Feb. 25 and played five games before continued soreness in the knee sidelined him. After further rehab did not ease the soreness, surgery was decided on. He is expected to be ready for training camp.

Oh, and take note of that "mental hurdle" date, along with the dates of his other quotes (and the cleared to play/practice dates).
How long do you give someone to get over a mental hurdle (of progressing to on the court regah) that every other professional athlete (who has had that surgery) has managed to clear in days, if not hours or minutes.
The answer is....as long as it takes. The problem is that it is taking a lot longer than anyone would reasonably expect.

Why is that in this thread?
Did Granger tear his ACL?
Is Rose undergoing surgery again?
In other news....No World Peace for 6 weeks....so it is a free for all. Total anarchy.

Roae needs to be given an ultimatum, come back by Sunday or publically announce he's going to be a bitch and not even give it a shot. How much longer can this drag on?

Re: Rose Injury Thread 9: "Warriors, come out to play-ee-ay
In the last thread we were talking about this team compared to the last year team.
Asik is a step above Mohammad sure.. but more Noah / Gibson basically neutralizes that. I'd call it a depth loss. It could be important but probably is not.
Jimmy 2012-2013 >>> Brewer 2011-2012 + Jimmy 2011-2012.
Korver > Pasta + Cook..
Gibson has been unhealthy - but he's health now and fresh legs.
Noah is unhealthy but he has more experience with Plantar Fasciatis and I think he can manage it by the playoffs. If you recall last year his ankle was so bummed that he couldn't even walk. He'll be healthier and better than last year. And fresher legs.
Nate >> Lucas
The summary I draw is this team is pretty similar to last years in talent. It will come down to health. If Noah is healthy I think this team could beat last year's Philly team without Rose. We have maybe a 2-3% chance to beat anyone like Miami as well. Not great but it could happen.
Good posts. I'm not sure what to make of Stacey King thinking Rose is dominating. Then I see the recent 1v1 practice video and Rose looks hobbled. Perhaps Rose is inconsistent and wants to consistently be strong before he comes back.

With a meniscus tear which I was also told very minor and not really necessary for a knee by some in this thread.

That's not out the question given the right matchup. At that point he would be playing 5 on 5 scrimmage with his teammates for over 2 months. The pressure for him to come back would be insane, Noah would be playing more injured than Rose.
It just makes sense to get him out there for 8-10 regular season games and avoid a situation like that. Otherwise announce now that he's done for the season. Bulls fans have showed up and supported the team in much harder times we will continue to do so if the hope of a Rose comeback is eliminated.
It may sound funny, but Derrick Rose is the healthiest player on our roster...But he doesnt want to play...Is that simple.
Damn. If you think about it, he is.

Silly rabbit, Rose doesn't have the gonads to announce anything.
You best believe Reggie, BJ, 4 lawyers, and Adidas aren't even thinking about an announcement at this moment. Especially not after beating the Heat.

Bynum did not return and now hd needs surgery on both knees. We need Rose on the court fast!

You should know, most here have a Masters in NBA from NBATV and a MD from WebMD. Rose, Noah and Rip should all be playing at a 110% yesterday.

So does that mean he's lying when ye says he's physically fine?
"The latest update from Derrick Rose, if one can call it that, is that he’s still not ready to suit up for the Chicago Bulls with 16 games remaining in the regular season. Rose admits that his surgically repaired left knee continues to be sore when he trains."
http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/20 ... -soreness/
He said Thursday that he’s still experiencing some soreness in his surgically repaired left knee and hasn’t set a target date for his return.
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baske ... z2OsBjYVKz
But he also acknowledged that he is still fighting through the same general soreness and pain that he has been dealing with throughout the process.
All these sources are dated later than the source that you mentioned. I think its safe to say he's overcome the mental aspect but not the soreness aspect which he's trying to get rid of

Re: Rose Injury Thread 9: "Warriors, come out to play-ee-ay
Korver is one dimensional...A very good one domensional and I would love to have him back next year...But I think Beli fits this team much better...Beli can create his own shot sometimes and proved to be clutch when we needed him, so I will have to say we also got better there...
I have to go against my own side of the argument here and speak out on just one point-- Korver is way more valuable than Beli.
Beli just doesnt do any one thing all that well. Korver is a legendary 3 pt shooter and changes games. We've seen him completely win games we didnt totally belong in.
Marco is fine for what he costs, but dont let a couple clutch shots define what you think of him. Just because a guy made a couple clutch shots doesnt mean he'll make the next one. That is the sports fan's most common step into bad logic.

Not an option. We should all agree here that the worst possible outcome of all this is the Bulls and Rose hating each other.
Sure we have a small chance to win the ECF this year. It is not worth increased frictions with Rose. If Rose skips the year I will dislike it, disapprove, and yet grin and bear it.
I believe what I believe on the matter, but I dont torch things because of how strong I'm holding onto my beliefs.

Well I wasn't being quite serious about such an ultimatum, that's just what I want to see happen.

While I HOPE this isn't true... my cynical side is starting to think they won't announce anything about Rose sitting out the season until after Playoff tickets go on presale.

No, it isn't "safe" to say that....or it would be "safe to say" that he would have said so.
What he is feeling is normal soreness that goes with rehab....and he knows that.
From your own link:
Rose said he has suffered no setbacks but has endured normal pain as his activity level has increased.
Rehabbing tends to be painful....but as you know, he was medically cleared about 5 weeks ago.

I'm not sure why with Rose it has to be all or nothing. I'm a bit sore therefore I cannot suit up. How are Lu and Jo feeling while logging 40+ minutes every night?
