dont know if some are old enough to remember when the nba was on nbc or cbs. the coverage was much better and analysis. they did weekend games tripleheaders playof games and tbs and tnt during the week.
now i dont think abc or epsn coverage or analysis are great. even when nbatv has games their analysis is much better. i also think nba play by play some rather do analysis or talk then play by play

ESPN/ABC sucks balls. Outside of Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy, and Hubie Brown, their analysts and commentators are terrible. Jon Barry, Mike Turico, Mark Jones, Doris Burke...puke. And their halftime show is equally bad...Magic may have been a genius when he played, but he just sounds dumb as an analyst. Broussard doesn't know what he's talking about, Simmons and Rose think of themselves as hilarious but really aren't, and they just sound dumb and ignorant when they try to analyze the game as well. Nothing redeemable about ESPN/ABC games outside of the games with Breen, JVG, and Hubie. And even then, Hubie is always paired with Mike Turico it seems, which just ruins it.
TNT, otoh, I like a lot. The halftime show actually has some sound analysis, but at the same time, they don't take themselves too seriously, and it's actually enjoyable to watch. And the commentators are so much better. Marv Albert, Steve Kerr, Mike Fratello, Kevin Harlan, and recently, Ian Eagle. The only ones that suck are Miller and Webber, but even then, when Webber works as a studio analyst instead of a commentator, he's so much better.

Wow...I pretty much agreed with every word of that.

ABC/ESPN caters to casual idiots.
Bill Simmons and Michael Wilbon are embarrassing to watch. Neither of them have probably played organized sports, and their opinions are god awful.
