Where would peak Baron Davis rank today?

Post#1 » by RebelWithACause » Fri Mar 29, 2013 10:29 pm

Considering his peak years are 07 and 08!

I would argue he would be a Top2 PG and a clear Top10 (5-9 )

Even though his scoring efficiency was below average his impact was amazing!
Terrific passer, Good defender and could really light it up on good days .
I always felt that that Warriors Team was one decent Big Man away from really contending and making Baron even better!

Thoughts?

Peak Baron Davis on a GOOD day could play great perimeter D, guard Dirk in the playoffs, score 30 points, dish out 12 assists, get 4 steals, throw it down on fools, and sink a bunch of clutch shots.

However this Baron showed up for a season, maybe two max.

I'd put THAT Baron as probably the 3-5th best PG in the game today.

He would be around the level of Curry so not a clear top 10 but arguable

Well in 07-08 BD was probably the 2nd best PG behind Paul, and I'd venture to say it'd be the same if he was prime right now.

I take Curry over any version of Davis by a landslide.

Even with Rose and Rondo out, Paul, Westbrook, Parker, Curry would still be easily ahead of him, and then you'd have guys like Irving, Deron, Wall, Holiday or Rubio that you could make a case for.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

There ain't NO case in the world to be made for Jrue Holiday and Ricky Rubio being better than a prime Davis!

I disagree!
Paul is ahead clearly
Westbrook, Parker, Curry and Irving have a case. Deron lately as well!
Thats it!
Only ones debatable for me are Parker and Curry to a degree

Baron Davis is better than Westbrook and Parker? I don't see it.
