Chauncey might miss the rest of the season

Post#1 » by mttwlsn16 » Fri Mar 29, 2013 4:41 pm

Chauncey Billups (groin) is listed as doubtful for Friday against the Spurs, and his status for the remainder of the season is "in doubt."
It's not a surprise after he aggravated his groin injury on Wednesday. With Billups very unlikely to play Friday and looking doubtful for the rest of the regular season, Willie Green should start at shooting guard with Jamal Crawford, Eric Bledsoe and possibly Matt Barnes all seeing a boost in minutes off the bench. "He's going to be out a little bit," Vinny Del Negro said.

Poor guy

The question is do you want to start him in the playoffs if he is healthy and ruin continuity, or do you just go with Green? I'm going to put this one out there, experiment with starting Bledsoe for the rest of the season :)

This might be the last we see of Billups ever.

He should sit rather than putting himself at risk of re-aggravating as he did the other night. Unfortunately, the team has not really been able to gel with him in the starting line-up. Having him miss the rest of the season and then trying to re-insert him into the starting line-up in the playoffs is very risky.

will this be the end for chauncey in clipper red white and blue? i would like to bring him back at vet's minimum, and odom for the same deal, but they will have to be our 9th and 10th men in rotation and we better go out and get a durable/capable C/PF and a starting 2 guard next year.
ehhhhh f it.

Draft Isaiah Cannan as our backup point after we trade Bledsoe for a starting two.

Or bring in Quentin Richardson to strengthen our shooting guard spot for the remainder of the season. He is still a capable 10-15 minute guy imo

That sucks big time, especially in playoffs, even if he does return, he'll be rusty. I agree with bringing Bledsoe into the starting lineup. Trust Wayns more and give him the backup PG mins.

Nothing against Chauncey, he's a good guy but him being injured might be a good thing for the Clipps. He can't defend at all now. I think he should retire
