OT but posting cause it made me nostalgia. LeBron's very first NBA game. Dropped 25/9/6. If this wasn't a sign of greatness I don't know what is. It was this dude's FIRST GAME.

Ha he looked so awkward then compared to now. Plus he had that Kobe-esque shot selection on some of those shots at the start (considering those were just the makes)

Not just his game, but his body language was so much different too. Look at the way he ran up the court at 30 seconds. And here's a rare game from '06:

Jumper looked quite a bit different, though definitely better than it looked in '07.

I don't know what to expect honestly.

I guess we will finally see him play with great sense of motivation and activity, but at the same time, the Heat will have some pretty easy opponents that they'll face en route to the Finals. If Miami plays like they did during the win streak, I think we won't be seeing a lot of extraterrestrial figures by LeBron... He'll most likely take a 4th quarter sit for some of the blowouts early on.

Can't get a good idea unless everyone else is playing except Lebron to see how good they would be.

Holy smokes, they already have 58 wins?! I was in Botswana for the last month and seemed to miss a lot!

Looks like they might be coasting a bit and getting into playoff mode. A 4th MVP award seems all but said at this point.

Yeah, just posted that for informational purposes. Didn't mean for it to have any significance.

Such a casual game from Lebron, very low intensity. One of the easiest 27/4/5 statlines I've ever seen. Good to see his jumper working too.

Last 39 G

Code: Select all

MP    PTS    TRB    AST    STL    BLK    TOV   TS%    eFG%   GmSc   ORTG
37.7  27.7   7.8    7.6    1.9    0.9    3.1  .662   .623    25.8   129

Last 6 G

Code: Select all

MP    PTS    TRB    AST    STL    BLK    TOV   TS%    eFG%   GmSc   ORTG
35.8  30.0   6.7    7.2    1.8    1.3    3.0  .758   .742    28.8   139

That's about a PER of 41. If it hasn't been noticed yet, he's basically back in February mode, only in even fewer minutes played.

Miami in those 6 Games

123.9 ORTG (+16.0)
101.7 DRTG (-1.2)

11.2 SRS

For the playoffs I predict Heat will lose 2 games at most. They are just gonna bulldoze everybody its gonna be like the Bulls in 91 or the Lakers in 01.

Let's not be ridiculous, they're going to lose more than 2 games. If they draw Chicago in the 2nd round, which seems pretty likely at this point (the 4-5 matchup is pretty much locked with the Nets and Bulls) there's pretty much no way they win the title losing less than 3 games.

Update on stats that I kept track of last season, Lebron's box-score performance with Wade and Bosh ON/OFF the floor. Seemed like a good idea considering NBA.com has updated their database on this stuff and its more accurate than before because we know have totals available. For now, I'm only going to post the data for this season and the 3 Miami seasons as a whole, adjusted to his seasonal MPG and 3 year MPG.

It really depends on who they play. They could conceivably go thru the east undefeated.

With the current standings, the toughest possible SRS matchups through the Eastern Conference would yield an average Opponent SRS of 0.99. The East is going to be a cakewalk unless Garnett returns to form in the PS again.

Well, in a playoff matchup, Brooklyn's ability to score in the half court (they're a top 10 offense basically only playing in the half court) could prove to be the determining factor against Chicago, who have a relative inability to score in the half court. I think it's really a toss-up who wins that series, and I don't really see a favorite.

And if Brooklyn advances, Miami wins in a sweep, or 5 at most, with a mercy game thrown in.

Potentially, in the East, Miami could play Milwaukee, then Brooklyn, then NY. They could very well go 8-0 through the first 2 rounds. And I think a focused Miami (which they would be) could take NY out in 5. Then it really comes down to who comes out of the West. If it's OKC again, then Miami takes them out in 5 again.

That's all pretty possible.
