Re: Pistons-Bulls 7pm
17 turnovers to 9 and the foul differential were the keys. Monroe and Knight are turning everything over, CV is too soft to play alongside anyone but Andre, Calderon's D was awful as usual but Bulls actually failed to capitalize on that which kept us close, English and Middleton failed to get open at all.
It's hard to see where can Knight actually fit in with this team, I'm sure (hope) Joe is still very high on him due to his toughness and work ethic but he had nearly zero movement without the ball this game, it doesn't matter if he is a PG or a SG, he has to help to stretch the floor. At least he has to learn to take care of that ball, these kinds of games actually erases the purpose of him trying out the 2 guard spot.
Monroe's game is much better when he is paired with Dre IMO, when he is not doubled he can take over.
CV is useless when he is not hitting everything.

I skipped the 4th quarter so I could watch Game of Thrones. I'm glad we got the loss and it looks like Dre and Monroe had decent games. From what I saw there is no doubt in my mind that Moose and Dre will work together. Moose knocked down a couple jumpers and the defense was drastically improved with them both in there. The only time Boozer went off is when JJ was guarding. Boozer didn't get anything done against Monroe. Also, I'm not surprised to see Jimmy freaking Butler post Knight up all game long. I despise small ball in any form and playing Knight at SG is a complete waste. Put the dude back at PG and give him until the trade deadline next year to prove himself. If he doesn't then trade him. Oh and lol at Frank only playing Drummond 22min.

It really makes you wonder if Frank was trying to tank. All he talks about is defense, yet late in a close game he choose to play his 2 worst interior defenders together down the stretch.
Another thing that irked me was Stuckey was unstoppable in the 1st half playing at PG. So naturally in the 2nd half Frank played him exclusively at SF.

Uh-huh! I had those same thoughts.

This line-up looked GOOD

Stuckey
English
Middleton
Villanueva
Drummond
give Stuckey 3 shooters and a BEAST and he's all set...I guess.

Also this game was further proof of how bad we could use Iguodala. The 2nd straight game we get dominated by the opposing starting SF. Without Tay we have no answer at all.
If we had Iguodala these last 2 games, Gay/Deng would've dominated like that.
SF is definitely our #1 need. I'd go hard after AI.

I don't even want Singler in the rotation anymore. His new nickname should be cotton ball because of how soft he is. JC, Singler, JJ, and CV are all soft and they need to get out immediately.

Stuckey is elite at penetrating. He's just one of the worst finishers in the league. But if you surround him with shooters and give him a great offensive rebounding big man to clean up his misses, he can be really effective with the ball. Because the court would be spread enough for his drives, and then Drummond would be there for lobs/dump-offs or to clean up his misses when he cant finish.
I still over Stuckey though. Thats more of a gimmick offense to make him look good though, than anything we should bank on longterm, like he's our PG of the future or anything.

I agree I'm tired of Singler, and I'm tired of hearing the Pistons insiders list him among our core of the future. He's avg at best. There's no reason a 24 win team should be including any "avg at best" players in their future plans.
He might be ok playing 10-15 min off the bench, but no more than that, and should be highly expendable as we look to rebuild around Drummond.

Well, yeah. I believe we would not see CV more than 10 minutes if we were going for a playoff spot. And also, I think by giving minutes to him (and also Stuckey) he is giving them a chance to showcase themselves. CV can be traded next season as he will be an expiring, who knows maybe he can net us something?, and Stuckey has gotten undervalued due to his brutal start of the season wouldn't hurt if he has a good stretch of 10 games to boost his value.

Re: Pistons-Bulls 7pm
Good loss. Drummonds impact is almost surreal. Middleton & English continue to get a lil burn, no Maxiell or Bynum and CV didn't have any ridiculous late game heroics to cost us the game. Stuckey is a mixed bag, I like him when he plays well like this but it's fools gold. How many times can one say "If he played like this all the time..."? So much potential and so little actual impact over the course of a season.
But Drummond...damn, this kid is good. It's insane to think he could very well be the best C in the league next year. If we continue to put shooters around him via the draft & free agency this team could very easily make the playoffs next year, which is pretty damn amazing considering how bad we currently are lol

Very very very good post man.
I am really looking forward to Drummonds improvement in the post this Summer.
We really arent as bad as we look sometimes, with an improved Drummond offensively & a stud wing scorer, we are a playoff team again. This Monroe/Drummond thing could be dangerously good in a few years.
