When you're declaring that you're winning the division in January 5th then you deserve to be trolled.

They won the division on January 5th. You trolled. You ended up looking stupid. So?

They didn't win the division on January 5th. I didn't troll. I just said the truth.

That's not necessarily true.

Who declared, the OP asked the question.

And guess what?

The OP didn't stop in the question, though. He continued and posted the following:

He chose to throw jabs at 3 other teams in order to strengthen his opinion that his team locked up the Conference Title in January 5th.

It's a matter of common courtesy. You cannot declare that a conference title fight is over 3 months in advance. It's arrogant.

I do not claim to know the intention of the OP as I have no means of knowing but it just sounded wrong, imo.

Nah, that was just my perception at the time and it's held up pretty damn well. I was very confident that the Knicks would win the division. Didn't guarantee it or anything and cited the other teams major flaws as to why they wouldn't be able to catch them.

Well, it's somewhat fair considering that several Nets fans kept bumping this thread as the lead grew smaller.

Even as a Nets fan, I never supported talking about this especially when we didn't have the lead in the division. It's like bragging about something that you haven't even won yet, which is pointless.

Yeah this thread is basically a cesspit at this point. The premise of the thread was not that bad, asking if the Knicks had "already won" the division was a legit question given the context. But it coming from a Knicks fan, and the tone used by our fans turned it into some thread that offended people, the rest of the teams in the
division at that point were really struggling and the Knicks were rolling.

Not going to lie though barring a collapse here the Nets fans like Petro really really embarrassed themselves in this tread by bringing it up over and over again throughout the season and acting like the same way the Knicks fans were in the start, this thread should have died months ago with maybe one bump at the end of the season had it ended up not true. Around page 8-9 is when it really gets funny with all the bumps. These fans turned what in reality was a embarrassment to the Knicks fans who thought the division was sealed in January and basically turned it into an embarrassment for themselves.

Anyways i really really don't understand all the Knicks, Nets hate. Its like a rivalry is trying to be forced with hardly any backing.. Sure i want them to lose now for our seeding purposes but once the playoffs start i don't view them any different then any other team and will probably be pulling for them fairly hard, only downside is that if they end up farther then us ill have to listen to everyone talking **** next year.

Fair enough. I'm just stating how it sounded like to a non-Knick fan.

So...

What to think?

Winning Percentage by Month:

15, 11-4, .733
15, 10-5, .667
13, 7-6, .538
11, 6-5, .545
17, 11-6, .647

So they're 45-26 so far, or .634, which is pace for about 52 wins. Their performance has fluctuated pretty significantly with the quality of their 3pt shooting and (of course) the health of their roster. As of March, they're still shooting 2% below their seasonal average, or thereabouts. But they're also recovering after a mid-season slump.

I think they're a dangerous team. Dangerous to anyone who underestimates them in the first round, dangerous to any team against whom they get hot from 3. They aren't a title contender, I don't think, but they're not to be taken too lightly either.

I know right, it was being bumped when we were injured and slumping, now people want to say it can't be bumped when we're winning?

Anyways, it is looking more and more that no one is going to catch the Knicks in the Atlantic, fingers crossed.
