Let's do this right: Cavs vs. Hawks

Post#1 » by ATL Boy » Mon Apr 1, 2013 11:43 pm

No thread last time around, we're gonna do this right and make a thread for this game. Al is back after missing 2 straight games. The seats are empty as ever but at least tonight we can make the excuse that they're empty because of the Braves' openning day game just a few miles down the road at Turner field. :D

Jeff's 3 gives them some room at the half!

Might Devin Harris be our most important Free Agent to be?

If Jeff prices himself out of our budget, I'd be okay re-signing DH & drafting a young PG.

I heart AL.

Harris is solid and plays very well when he is healthy but he cant play a month straight without suffering an injury. I would like to see him in a Hawks uniform next year, but he can't be relied on to be the every day starter.

They need to go ahead and open this lead up and quit letting the Cavs hang around.

Then you would be okay with having a injury prone PG that is GOING to miss games.

I like Harris. I dont' want to count on him to be my future point.

Fair points.

But with Lou coming back and a young PG prospect coming in, we could establish certain safeguards. PT limits, etc.

Just a thought. Especially if we could get him for $6million or less. That leaves more money for other positions.

I had a game like Speights'. But then I woke up.

Seriously, did Drew go to sleep? Why'd it take him so long to put Horford - or ANYbody - on Speights?
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

I would rather pay Teague 9-10 than to pay Harris 6 honestly.

Harris at this stage of his career would be a perfect backup point guard.

I don't think anybody is going to overpay for Harris, because today's NBA is flooded with young quality PGs.

the only teams that i see Harris having a shot at starting is Dallas, Miami, and Toronto, and i don't see any of them really making an offer to Devin.

anyway, the market is flooded with quality PGs now, which lowers the price. just like with Louis Williams, i think Ferry could get Harris back on a discount, if he wanted too.

between Zaza, Korver, Harris, and DeShawn, Korver should be the top priority in resigning...... and then either Zaza or Harris should be looked into retaining, which ever one will come back cheap.

Mike Dunleavy got 3.5 million per year, which i think is fair for Korver (between 3.5 million and 5 million)

CJ Watson got 3 million per year, which i think is fair for Harris

Zaza's previous contract was 5 million per year, so 3 million to 4 million per year, seems fair now

Harris ain't taking less than Korver. Plus Devin's playoff performance will drive his cost....was will Teague's. I can see Dallas forcing us to overpay Jeff just to offer Harris a nice deal after we match.
