Monroe was a great scorer last night. He usually struggles against athletes but he was a force last night. He's been hitting that midrange jumper for the past few games and that has freed him up a bit more. Its very encouraging to see. He didn't do much rebounding wise, but his defense didn't hamper us. I also love how he seemingly is always looking for Drummond to pass to.
As for Drummond, I agree he looked gas. And damn- his offense is terrible. For such a big guy with super long arms and athleticism- his release point is so low. There is no reason that Jonas V shouldve been able to block him twice. He needs to work on that this off season.
And Knight clearly isn't healthy and should be benched. I have no reason why he's playing, its not like he's been a net positive since his latest injuries

^Glad you brought up the release point...I think he's still in the habit of playing like a guard like he did in high school, because he handled the ball quite a bit in highlight vids. Whereas Valanciunas always remains long, never brings the ball down...like Pau. I hope Roy Rogers catches this and helps him with it.

Monroe showed last night why its probably a good idea to keep him, even if he doesn't fit perfect with Drummond.
Because there are going to be nights when Drummond has an off game, and it was great to have another big man to take over and lead us to victory when that happens.
Last night was maybe the first time I can say Monroe led us to a win. It was nice to see.

as was said earlier in this thread last night, Moose/Drummond couldnt be a more natural fit.

No. We don't want to be a team that has 45 million dollars next year tied to DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Gay, Landry Fields and Andrea Bargnani.
No. We don't want to be a team that has a losing culture. We had more straight ECF (6) appearances then than you have TOTAL playoff appearances.
And no, we don't want to be a team with Bryan "Rebuilding other teams around the league" Colangelo as the GM.

i think he'll eventually learn to bring his release point higher as his shot develops. there was a point last night where drummond spun left and took a shot from next to the rim, if he had palmed teh ball with his left, he could have dunked it all over val.

This is funny considering you lost the game - at home - with all your "superior" talent.

Valanciunas is Rik Smits 2.0 lol
