From AZ Central:

Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby agrees to two-year extension

I wish I could suck at my job and get extended!

I can live with that, I like Babby. Blanks needs to go.

He is, in fact, the lesser of two (or three) evils, but I don't care much for him. I have no doubt now that both Blanks and Hunter will be signed to equal deals.

The duration of the extension I feel it was adequate. Let's see how the rebuilding phase goes, and reflect over how well it went when the contract is near expiration. Now, there is not any kind of bad inheritance from Sarver days as GM, it's all on him now.

His biggest mistake was hiring Lance Blanks, supposed "basketball genius"

It's fair. Does anyone if Blanks contract also expires at the end of the season?

No, Blanks has one more year left.

Babby is OK, but we need other GM because Blanks has no clue about talent.

Let's hope he redeems himself by not repeating that mistake and not re-signing Lance after next season (or, better yet, fire him this offseason!). Hey, a guy can dream, right?

This guy must be really persuasive. From a job as a player agent to this....he didn't really even have the qualifications to get the job in the first place and now he gets an extension after the team fell apart completely with zero cornerstones in place?

I love how in the press release above he says "We have already begun the heavy lifting." I don't think so....I think that process really hasn't even started yet.

The Good: With a two year extension, he won't be looking over his back this offseason. Job security means he can start to take the long, hard road back to contention (draft and develop) rather than looking for a quick fix (Smith, Iggy).

The Bad: This team is devoid of talent we just resigned one of the guy responsible for that.

The Ugly: Really though, how is the "captain of the ship" in our worst year ever as a franchise still getting paid?

I guess it wouldn't be giving him a fair shake to just let him leave. He came at a time when the Steve Nash Suns (D'Antoni-Kerr era) were seriously on the decline. Only now has he had a real chance to create his own team.
