Harden getting 26pts on 6 FGM, Mags had 20pts on 6.5 FGM. Both of them are not playing much of a defense. :P
Is passing the difference from being top5-10 all NBA player and Pistons 12th man?

Shooting.

Maggette couldn't shoot to save his life (he had an OK elbow jumper...but it was flat) and defenses respect Harden's J. Maggette also couldn't dribble, Harden can.

In terms of individual offensive stats, Maggette wasn't that far off from Harden. But team play (not just passing, but how they work in an offense) is a big difference. Maggette was an extreme ball-stopper and an poor jump-shot allowed teams to pack the paint on D. Maggs individual offense was balanced by making his teammates worse on offense when he was on the court.

Harden's passing, vision, range and general decision-making on offense make has teammates better when he's on the court, in addition to his individual offensive stats. That combination is what makes him an elite offensive player.

Put Harden on a team with a good point guard and you'd probably see the difference between him and Maggette pretty quickly. One problem with Maggette is that his game never changes. If he played with Steve Nash or even Magic he'd probably still be a ball-stopper. Harden is a much more nuanced player.

Once again after a miserable loss, the Warriors are bailed out by another team. Thank you Grizzlies for taking care of the Rockets.

And got taken care of by Indiana the night before....they still have two more tough ones.

We need to show ourselves that we can play better. Even when we win, there are many things that need to be corrected. This team has tons of room for improvement.....good and bad thing.

Ever since the Kings got jobbed by the refs as requested by the league, I have no faith in the refs when it comes to calling fouls on NBA favorites.

Lakers are a dying franchise (to get lucky again with a franchise player again no doubt) that the league desperately wants in the playoffs.

I rather see the LAL in the 8th seed every season, as long as they own a 1st rounder.

If they have a 1st lottery rounder, they will "some how" get the 1st 3 picks.

Does anyone else think this team could win 55 if it was coached by Pop? We have so many specialist offensive weapons, and Pop is the best in the league at maximizing player potential.

I think Pop could have netted us some more wins, but I truly believe maturity would have netted us even more.

Absolutely. He's not only a better in game coach but he's great at developing talent and I'm sure would get more out of our bigs than the current staff.

Although I think us getting Tim Duncan would have accounted for more wins than getting Pop.

I remember a GB thread about combining two teams rosters and I though about how fun the Warriors/Spurs would be. The ball movement and shooting would be a amazing. Parker/Curry/Jack PG rotation. Thompson/Leonard/Green/Ginobli/Barnes wing rotation and Duncan/Lee/Bogut/Splitter/Landry as Bigs.

No. Maybe 2-3 more. But no coach is worth 10 more wins. The Spurs have more talent on the court, which is what matters the most.

Who we could have had. Although maybe we dodged a bullet.

Instead we got Ike Diogu.

If the Warriors dodged a bullet with this one, they just reloaded and pulled the trigger on a 6yr/$54M contract to Biedrins three years later. Maybe drafting Bynum might have forced the Warriors to trade Biedrins while he had value and a reasonable contract.
