I am not so sure, a couple of reports this week started to talk about expansion. Which is good, I mean we have done a good enough job to make our market being able to compete with Seattle's market. Maybe that's not the case but I am sure when the word "India" popped up from the Sacramento camp, it became a game changer. Regardless of the snide comments we make (I am guilty of making some of them) about Seattle "giving up" the Sonics, there is no doubt they are a great market. Then on the other side, you got the one show in town thing with Sacramento, Stern loves that. Now we add in India, with potential to expand into that massive developing market is exactly what the NBA wants. Many around the NBA have said Vivek Ranadivé has connections to make good on his promise the NBA in India, he has already started to do some of it while being just the minority owner of the GSW.

So back to my point, 2 months ago everyone said we have no chance to keep the team and no other team would come here if we lost the Kings, the fact the word expansion is being tossed around means that the NBA feels like it doesn't want to lose out on either of the situation that are being presented.

Overall I think the sale to Seattle is denied, we get a deal done in about a month or two, and by the end of the year there is serious talk about expansion. Money will always come first as opposed to talent dissolution.

Both sides make a very strong argument, and the automatic direction to think of if you can't really decide is say "why not let both win?"

What's important is how the owners feel about that, and from reports it's not so favorably. Although who knows, if they get the 500 million from Hansen shared among themselves right before the new TV deals arrive, and get to have both SAC and SEA, it might work in our favor.

Hopefully that'll be the solution, but I too doubt it.

You may be right. I got excited by my own epiphany that even if the League isn't against expansion they could get rid of the Maloofs by pretending they are. Of course they can also get rid of the Maloofs by being against expansion.

Some of those douchebags actually went and bought the herewestay domain to put a pro-seattle picture on it and nothing else.

As pathetic and classes as it can get. Stay classy Seattle.

Well, tomorrow is the lesser of the two BIG important days ahead for the Sacramento/Seattle Sage. Here's some interesting reads to past the time:

http://blogs.seattletimes.com/nbainseattle/2013/03/31/could-the-maloofs-just-keep-the-kings-if-seattle-bid-is-denied/

And Saturday night, NBA.com writer Scott Howard-Cooper — who previously worked at the Sacramento Bee — Tweeted that he is hearing that the Maloofs might want to hold onto the team if the Seattle bid is denied [enter puke emoticon]

I'm sure the Maloofs might WANT to hold on to the Kings.

The question is can they afford to - the answer is a pretty obvious 'NO'.

Empty threats and words by the Maloofs(ONCE AGAIN) which everyone know they can't back up with actions.

As expected, we've captured the Bob Cook 7% share, with David Lucchetti exercising the right to match.

Nice to get some positive news before the big meeting today - and, if worst come to worst, a backdoor longshot chance to keep the Kings in Sac through the ROFR.

I wonder how Seattleites are gonna re-spin this now regarding the 7% though :D

Seems like, as reported by the "Sacramento biased media" they liked to point their finger and laugh at any given moment, Hansen did this purely to try and stop the positive PR Sac was getting.

Moves of a desperate man? let's hope so, although I'm still not at all decided as to which side I THINK will ultimately win.

Vivek deciding to show up publicly and some of the other moves lately gave me a much better feeling about us though. Think it's a coin-flip right now - which is something I never thought I'd dream to say about a month and a half ago.

It makes the most sense for the BOG to reject the sale to Seattle. However, when I think about it, when is the last time a group of billionaire business men restricted or limited the right of "the free market" in the name of fairness/justice?

Wow...extremely optimistic press conference. Everyone seemed so confident in their answers, compared to Hansen who didn't answer any questions about the meeting.

Seattle fans are massive ****, when this all went down they said "If Sacramento can get an arena and match the offer they should keep their team." A couple of months later they are bitching at KJ for doing just that.

Also Stern mentioning this is first of its kinds situation. All those people we think the owners vote for owners in the past have never been in a situation like this before.

Once again, stay classy Seattle. No twitter and forum trolls - this time it's their TV stations.

Loved the top comment :

"#1 Thing Sacramento has Seattle doesn't. The NBA."

They sure seem scared and defensive for a "slam dunk no doubt about it deal" that they don't even get why we try to prevent cause it's such a sure thing to happen, huh.

Return to Sacramento Kings
