Sportsnet's "Strike Zone" addition
Do you guys like the new addition by Sportsnet of having the pitch by pitch strike zone?
I have been wanting this for years. I am happy!

Liked it when I first saw it. The more I watch, the more it seems pretty inaccurate at times. Could be just the camera angle, but some pitches that are down the heart on the Strike zone look nowhere close to that.

Re: Sportsnet's "Strike Zone" addition
The strike zone thing seems like the Fox glowing puck to me. Baseball people understand umps have different strike zones, and that box doesn't mean anything. If you need that to tell you a strike or ball.....like I said, like Americans with the Fox glowing puck.
As for the pitch count, that one I find more interesting. I'm torn. It kills me to see Morrow tossing 20 pitches per inning. Otoh, I guess it tells us the real story at any given time if he's labouring. I'll need some more time with that to decide if I like it. Counting up one at a time is like watching paint dry.

I've been wanting this for awhile, but I think the one they are using seems pretty inaccurate compared to ones I've seen in other broadcasts. Not impressed so far, sadly. But still better than nothing.

It's not bad but it looks a little bland and big at the moment.

I like it, although I think it's a bit redundant considering every ump has a different strike zone, unless you like to get riled up and nitpick every call.

Hawaiian pizza is good.

Re: Sportsnet's "Strike Zone" addition
It's too much to ask, but I wish the box would adjust to hitters and umps through the game, that'd be super bad ass, but even if the tech were cheap and easy to do, I doubt the league would be too interested in it being out there.
There are occasional times when I want to be able to minimize it and can't, but for the most part I'm glad it's there, certainly more than none at all ever.

Re: Sportsnet's "Strike Zone" addition
I like the box, but I can get something much better on my ipad from ESPN. If you're going to add something, why do it half-assed? Colour code the pitches to see which were called strikes or balls, which were fouled off. Also, why not bring up a graphic with previous at bats when the player first comes up? Its like they're afraid its too much information, so they've tonned it down (in drab white) so as not to offend anyone.

I wish it had things like chase says above. Plus it being accurate would be a huge plus

It's not bad... However the huge advertising in the batter blackout zone and atrocious camera angles are terrible

tell sportsnet how **** their broadcasts have gotten with the terrible ad angles (behind home plate for the batter's eye ad).

Hey Ozzy, how's BC and Casey working out for ya? Just three years into the real rebuild, right?

And likewise, if someone poses a question on whether we like something, you can always count on you to like it. The ying, the yang.
