Calderon's offensive game is nothing special, don't let his good shooting numbers and A:TO ratio fool you. He dribbles the ball for 20 seconds before making the safest pass possible. He's a backup PG with no creativity.

lin has a 12.7 passing rating & 9.0 ast/48

Holidays is the sole ball handler on his team & Lin is the secondary ball handler. Lin has had a 107 bad pass turnovers Jrue has had 127 bad pass turnovers. Jrue has had 103 ball handling TO's Lin 73 ball handling TO's. Lin has a 24 hands rating & jrue has a 22 hands rating.

Jose has a 31 hands rating and a 14.4 passing rating 24 bad pass turnovers & 9 ball handling turnovers 10.8 ast.48 that is incredible. his hands are almost as good as Nashs were when he was with the suns. jose is one of the best PG's in the nba at directing a low turnover offense. with jose on the cour vs off the court the pistons have a higher efg% & a higher assisted FG% & this is on a small sample because jose just got traded. there was a reason why dwayne casey started jose over lowry in toronto

Look, right now the Pistons BEST PG is GREG MONROE. He has elevated his game and now, alongside athletic monster like Drummond, you're seeing him BACK at his natural position of PF. The result is staggering.

As for a Spanish fly, Senor Calderon has nice numbers, GREAT efficiency score. Only one problem on more talented Toronto teams they went NOWHERE. Clearly not a difference maker. Clearly NOT a LEADER. He might miss Toronto because he's in Detroit but Toronto doesn't miss him at all. Despite all of his bravado last year being vocal about Lin's celebrity status...HE'S TRADED to DETROIT. Meanwhile, Lin's teammates SUPPORT a less talented player. THAT should tell you something.

Numbers aren't every thing. Because at the end of the day, Lin's an average player with a BIGGER HEART and more EFFORT than Calderon's BEST day. INSPIRING his players from the most talented to the least. While Calderon on two different teams could NEVER get his team to rally around him.

Quietly that young Rocket team molded by Kevin McHale has more chemistry than 2/3rds of the teams in the league. The Experience will come later. Watch as that team Next Season is 6-7 wins BETTER.

Raps fans hate him because he's so uncreative and can never make a risky pass. He's a backup PG, good enough to slow down the tempo and keep the bench in check. Comparison with Nash is laughable.

I'll give Calderon this...he'd be great on this rendition of the Knicks and I think he'd be an awesome piece on the Lakers as well. On both teams, they could pair him with a more versatile playmaker at the other Guard and it would shield his poor traits. There's a place for PG's like him...usually off the bench, but a place nonetheless.

Calderon is exactly what rasho said, a solid pg who has the tendency to hold the ball when defense tightens up and easy passing lanes aren't there anymore. You can't always judge a player only by taking a look at his stats. His play rarely makes his statline look bad but he often puts his teammates in a bad position and forces them to commit a TO or take a bad shot by playing it safe and milking the clock too much.

He would be a better fit on a team where he gets to play off the ball more if we're talking starter minutes, anything else is setting yourself up for a disappointment record wise. The numbers will be good, but that's basically it. On top of that i can't even count how often i've seen him get stripped in crunch time by not protecting his dribble.

Calderon would be awful here without Felton. JR and Melo would be the only guys capable of creating their own shots. Calderon also struggles to score when teams force him to drive. So, with Calderon here instead of Felton there would be A LOT more JR and Melo isos which would definitely wear them down.
