MLB TV?

Post#1 » by Lockdown » Thu Apr 4, 2013 8:42 pm

Just wondering - if I get MLB TV for my smartphone/iPad, will Jays games still be blacked out? I'm going to be doing a lot of commuting this summer, & still want to be able to catch the games.

yes they will be blacked out anywhere in Canada. Its a killer product if you're a baseball fan in general but its useless if you want to watch the Jays. Some people go the proxy route but i don't think its worth it, might as well just stick with illegal streams.

Fairly certain yes they will black-out MLBtv on your cell, but if you have a cable subscription or a Rogers cell you should be able to get the Jays games on your cell though. I thought so anyway.

Well... Yes, but still you can catch them later. I bought it this year for the first time, because I got a job somewhere where I will work evenings, and I just watch it the next morning. Also I watch a lot of out of market games.

Thanks - unfortunately I don't have a Cable subscription to piggy back off of. So unless you're a Rogers customer there's no legal way to stream the games live on mobile?

That is correct.

I would try MLB.TV, I'm in a similar situation and so far I probably spent close to 150 hours on it (Watching ST games as well). Whenever I'm bored I just flip on a game.

You can get around the blackouts real easy. Easily one of the best summer purchases every year.

It's really easy to get around the blackouts on an iPhone. Just jailbreak it and get a Fake Location app.

On a computer I just use illegal streams for Jays games. Pretty crazy... pay for a service and have to use illegal means to watch half the games I want to see. I'm sure I could find a proxy server to use but from what I can tell, anything reliable costs money.
