I disagree about the pay-cut part, though. I doubt he's going to take such a pay-cut 2 seasons in a row, even if his family is totally comfortable in NYC. This season he basically gave money away just to experience the NBA. In a way, it's like as if he paid for a year-long luxurious cruise around elite parts of the US (please disregard the fact that he needs to work his ass off every day). Would the Knicks be willing to pay around 1.5 mil for Pablo's 2nd season? Don't forget about the ridic luxury tax, it's not what it used to be.
The most we can pay him is 988K unless he is getting part of mini-MLE.
