What was the bet if you don't mind me asking, out of curiosity?

kemba vs knight for this season - best two out of three in these categories wins: PER, TS%, Ast/TO.

The way a sig bet should be done.

Props again to Combo, he is an intelligent and respected poster and I would like us to just get some satisfaction from this (on the inside)

Please no snide remarks to him/Pistons fans, we can just take solace in the fact the Bobcats finally won something.

Not at all Combo, much respect.

I don't think Amcoolio minds Bargnanism as a religion and we get a kick out of it, down to sig bet as self inflicted punishment is the Bobcats Nation way.

Obviously though when we win we have no idea how to react, shellshocked is the expression.

Props for repping your boy Knight, he is going to be an excellent pro.

 Weak. :nonono: Where's the blatant shots at the entire city of Detroit, the "I would rather have Cory Higgins than Brandon Knight", "I lost a bet to the Bobcats- I now know what true losing feels like" and "Kemba is better than Isiah Thomas! Suck it!" comments I totally didn't think were going to happen?

Seriously, though, Comboguardcity, respect you for coming here on your own and just taking the "punishment". Class act. Props

Now for my mini-celebration:

crazy that Kemba is gettin no respect in the lawson GB thread for quickest player, but I guess nobody has really seen him play on the GB. Kemba is up there among the quickest and shiftiest players I've ever seen

someone should post this. Whenever we play Wall/Lawson I never even notice them being particularly quick, probably because I'm so used to watching Kemba every night. Just easy to notice the ones that are ridiculously slow like Lin and Rubio

By the way, how nice was that tear drop/scoop shot he made against the Bucks!? I hadn't seen him do that before or at least I don't remember it. It would be a good shot to add to his repertoire because other than that the only way he challenges bigs is flying into them and throwing up acrobatic layups. He's pretty darn good at making them but it's certainly not the smartest way to finish a drive to the basket, he doesn't get the calls all the time and it's a sure way to wear down your body.

Twas a beautiful shot indeed. I would be ecstatic if Kemba patterns his game after Tony Parker.

UConn fan here.

When Rondo and Ray Allen were teammates with the Celts, Rondo told Ray Allen who told a CT newspaper that Rondo called Kemba the fastest player he has ever played against - so that would be everyone in the NBA plus everyone Rondo played in college. Kemba competed with Rondo on some kind of Olympic development squad one summer.

Kemba is easily top 3 in that department. Westbrook is the only player I'd definitively say is faster/quicker. Healthy Wall and healthy Lawson have a say as well.

i remember after a game against the heat earlier this season, spoelstra commented on kemba's low center of gravity. i think that is an underrated aspect of his quickness and ability to split doubleteams at the top of the key. you know he loves to rock the ball on his right hand before he crosses over to the left, and his knees are like 6 inches off the ground when he does this.

The mosr impressive feat isn't just how fast he is but how fast he is with ball in hand.

He has a legit circus handle.

That is an excellent point.

I remember commenting on Felton all the time and how he would try and play in 6th gear all the time which would lead him to screwing up a lot. He would have been better served playing between 4th and 5th gears and then using 6th sparingly.

Kemba however can play in 6th gear and do everything he does with precision execution.

For the record, I think Kemba is quicker than Lawson. By the eye-test at least...he just seems to have a one notch higher than Lawson in terms of change in direction.

I must say even I am often caught off guard by how fast he can split two defenders and I am one of his biggest fans.

When you look at a guy like Steve Nash who never was the quickest runner/sprinter but he was as fast as anyone with the ball in hand it goes to show the yo-yo ability Kemba has with the ball.

The thing that keeps catching defenders out isn't how quick he is (they know this) it's how quick he can maneuver around them with the ball, this is a rare ability in todays day and age of ball which is more of the athletic persuasion that simple fundamentals.

Case in point was Jrue Holiday last night, he went 2-24 showing absolutely no nous to get going offensively when it's not working, if he had the fundamentals he would have been able to attack the rim all night.

Kemba>Holiday as of this point, I really like Holiday but his stock bottomed out as of lastnight.

I was never that high on Jrue Holiday but he's made drastic improvements in his ability to distribute the ball this season that encourage me that Kemba could easily do the same thing in year 3 or 4. Holiday only averaged 4.5 assist last season and bumped that up to 8.5 assist this season. I wonder what type of focus or training did Holiday do over this past offseason that allowed him to improve his court vision so much because Kemba could use it to take his game to an even higher level.

I disagree right now, Jrue has jrastically Image improved his game this past year. His all-star appearance based on the first half of the season was justified given the lack of elite guards in the eastern conference. He's slowly returned to earth.

Part of his improvement is not having Iguodala there. Iggy handled the ball a lot as a Sixer. Right now he's probably a better passer and an equal scorer to Kemba, as well as a better defender, but add a good big man to this team and another offseason of everyone working hard to improve, and Kemba draws even with Holiday. I wouldn't take much from yesterday's game, though Jrue is an idiot for continuing to shoot. Once he was like 1-12, that should've been a sign.

Holiday is better than Walker, but it could be flip flop as soon as next season.
