Friday, April 5, 7:05 PM ET
Josh Johnson vs. Felix Doubront

Saturday, April 6, 1:07 PM ET
J.A Happ vs. John Lackey

Sunday, April 7, 1:07 PM ET
R.A Dickey vs. Jon Lester

PREVIEW:

It should be a full house and a hostile home crowd on Friday as Jays’ fans “welcome” back the not-so-dearly departed John Farrell . . . Towering right-hander Josh Johnson — GM Alex Anthopoulos’s original target from the Miami Marlins before that trade evolved into the 12-player blockbuster — makes his Toronto debut ... As a counterpoint to the sour reaction Farrell is likely to receive, longtime Jays coach Brian Butterfield — who left with Farrell to join the Red Sox — will be honoured Saturday by the local chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America with the John Cerutti “Good Guy” Award ... Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie remains on the disabled list with a strained left oblique ... Look for Jays manager John Gibbons to sit lefties Adam Lind and potentially also Colby Rasmus against Red Sox southpaws Doubront and Lester.

Reyes
Cabrera
Bautista
EE
JPA
DeRosa
Davis
Rasmus
Bonifacio

Would expect to see something like that if Bautista can play tomorrow. If he can't, the dreaded Lind will probably be in there instead at 4 or 5.

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

If Bautista can't go, then go with Davis-Rasmus-Melky in the outfield, DeRosa at DH, and Izturis at 3rd. Lind can ride the pine. Of course, the bench is paper thin in that scenario, with only a DH and a catcher available, but that's what you get when you have 8 relievers.

Edit to add: Suck it, Farrell.

I'd prefer Izturis too over him, but Lind has his 2009 season going for him still (somehow). It gives him the perception he's a big bat, which Gibbons could perceive they need in Bautista's absence.

Also, the Jays might seriously want to get another position player in here for tomorrow. Not sure why they care so much about whether they can keep Jeffress, especially with the way Cecil looked on Tuesday.

God I just want the Jays to stomp them.

Really hope Bautista can play. Any updates on Lawrie? I thought he was potentially going to get in a minor leage game. What's the earliest he could realistically be back? Early-mid next week?

Who is the Red Sox's most unreliable reliever and what are the chances of me seeing him pitch in a high leverage situation?

Whenever he starts playing MILB games, you can probably expect he'll be back about a week after that barring any setbacks. Considering he hasn't started playing yet, it will still be a while yet. Maybe next weekend in KC if he starts playing this weekend? Would love to see him live with the rest of them.

Shi Davidi ‏@ShiDavidi

Jose Bautista on his ankle (no limp, not wrapped): "We came in, took a look at it, and it’s good to go. ... It’s nothing serious."
