If Reyes, Davis, Gose and Bonafacio had a foot race

Post#1 » by Kapono » Sat Apr 6, 2013 2:10 am

What would the result be?

I think:

1. Gose
2. Bonafacio
3. Davis
4. Reyes

Would be really close though and fun to watch.

I'd go with Kapono's order.

If they did a 40m sprint, Lawrie would be dead last simply because he'd try to slide head-first to the finish line three steps out of the blocks.

All I know is Davis last among the 4 listed in the OP.

This.

And I think Gose might finish towards the end. His baserunning and instincts are what guide him, I think I remember Keith Law saying something about his speed being less speed and more baserunning. He flies through bases.

Reyes isn't as fast as he once was. I'd put him at the end and Gose at the top. Not sure who's faster between Davis and Bonifacio.

Gose-Davis-Boni-Reyes

Crazy thinking Reyes is the slowest, but at the same time one of the best base-stealers in the game

Reyes is hitting great but reading these rankings has me a little worried about Reyes when his contract winds down. If he's already lost speed now, what will he be like in his mid-30s when this deal ends?

I was under the impression he was like prime Ricky Henderson speed when we first nabbed him.. Is Gose really that fast!? Or is Reyes slowing down already?

Reyes is still one of the fastest guys in the league. If Gose was in the big leagues he would probably THE fastest guy.

I just watched some stand up triples and stolen base videos on Gose. Wow!

You guys weren't kidding. He didn't slowdown at all on the standup triple I saw. Top speed the whole time.
