If not for the poison pill, I'm sure we would have matched. With the poison pill the contract becomes untradeable.

Lillard's had a very nice rookie season though. Not sure if the Blazers should be playing him over 40 minutes if the team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs though...

Also Lin is too inconsistent right now. He had 4 straight games where he failed to reach double figures and now has almost three straight double doubles. This is good for a team like Houston where they can afford to let the youngsters grow. With us though we have a small window. Felton is consistently average and that is good for this team since he can be relied on. There are many great pgs in the league though and I'm sure once Amar'e's back breaking contract ends we will have a great pg either through the draft or through trade.

I'm sorry, but Houston should've shown a lot more improvement this year when compared to last year. They've actually underachieved with all that big offseason spending.

I like how you compare salaries over 3 years between the 6 players when Kevin Martin expires after this year, makes a lot of sense.

they see Lin throw a basic alley oop and they act like it was some prime Magic Johnson type ****. A few months back he pulled some weak crossover on Nash I think and converted a layup, they were orgasming over it...Felton, as average as he is, does shyt like that on a nightly basis once or twice a game

if thats the level where we aren't hyperbolic about basic moves and react like they just saw Pistol Pete in his prime ("on skates" FOH), then I'm glad to be where I'm at.

He understands they're the youngest team in the L, someone has to step up and be the douche who pushes everybody that everyone can't stand. To get the most out of every one of them. Harden is the best player, but Lin is the rock and leader of this team.

He also absolutely understands spacing, why it's necessary.

I wish we deal for Lin this summer... :(

If we signed Lin long term could we keep our own talents such as J.R Smith, Steve Novak while later re-signing Iman Shumpert? Not a living chance in hell. Is this where we congratulate Houston for going from 34-32 as a 9th seed with Goran Dragic, Luis Scola and Kevin Martin to 42-33 as a 7th seed with Jeremy Lin, James Harden and Omer Asik? Well, then congratulate to Hosuton?

The trio of Lin, Harden and Asik are due a combined $84,430,948 over the next three years when compared to the trio of Dragic, Martin and Scola who combine for $48,939,675 over the next three years. It's also weird how New York and OKC haven't missed a single beat without the likes of Jeremy Lin and James Harden. Both teams in New York and Oklahoma City have actually improved their records ten fold without those guys... Funny how that works.

Dude first of all Rox are youngest team in the L. As owner I'd rather spend $85mil for a younger, more athletic, better, a group who is proven to know how to win than $50mil for a considerably older group for the next three years. Lin is better than Dragic now, Asik (a double double machine and a defensive stud) is soooooo much better than Scola, Harden is of course so much better than Martin.

Knicks and Thunder already had a system and personnel (coaches, other superstars) in place without Lin and Harden. They're winning because of the system and personnel, rather than in spite of their absence. With Lin and Harden on the roster, the Knicks and Thunder would be better, Thunder would probably be number #1 in the West now, instead of .5 game back behind Spurs and Knicks would probably be much closer to the Heat.

absolutely nobody was acting like they saw pistol pete in his prime. you are too much on this board. anytime anybody extends the simplest comment to lin you cry about it. if it was ANY OTHER PG you wouldn't give a crap. you are just as bad, likely even worse than the Lin fans you claim to hate.

22pts and 8assists, 8-13 FG sometimes Lin haters just need to sit back, relax and say "man that's pretty good" which would make them sound more credible in the future...

Lin is trolling me pretty hard with his April assist totals. I'm going to send him a beehive full of live bees over the summer.

If the league tracked potential assists that lead to the shooter getting free throws, I think Lin would be very high up there. It's a function of his delivering so many passes for shots deep in the paint and at the rim, and partly because Asik just doesn't finish very well still, even with his improvement in this area over the season.

In 5 seasons time, MKG or Harrison Barnes?

^I would say MKG.

Harrison Barnes' game is one-dimensional, he's all just about offense... reminds me of Al Harrington.

MKG has the makings of quality defender, and he can be the next prime Ron Artest without baggage.

I always chuckle at Lin haters. They really don't understand that sports is desire. Numbers are arbitrary. You cannot find a stat sheet, young teammates who are more talented thinking, "Wow. This guy is busting his ass off. And what kind of effort am I giving?" That is the Lin leadership model. He's the kid who studied his butt off for a B- when he deserved a A+

I can't be more happy than Lin. The Rockets are VERY young, fast paced team. Plus they have a MAX CAT to use next season.

If McHale can find ONE defensive stopper to put on that squad of exciting offense, they'll be #4 or #5 seed next season.

Well said. Lin just has that "IT" factor. Still wish we had him...
