ATL @ SA: The REAL grading of the rookies.

Post#1 » by parson » Sun Apr 7, 2013 2:24 am

Is anybody else watching the Jenkins and Scott Show? Boys can ball. Not only are their #s good, their play is better. They're playing smart, playing hard and playing well.

I missed the 1st half, but this 2nd half is something else.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Jenkins is hotter than hot, so what do WE do? We ignore him. Not smart. That's the difference in the game: they're smarter than we are.

Hell, win or lose, that's all we can ask for.

Do we give any credit to L Drew for managing a close game? Keeping us afloat with only rookies and castoffs?

This could have easily turned into a massacre...

Maybe there is such a thing as a moral victory.

Jenkins had 24 points, Scott 22. I know they've been sitting most of the season and aren't as tired as the regular starters but, still, wow.

Get Danny Ferry more draft picks. (When did we EVER have a GM we could say that about?)

Anybody who didn't watch the kids play - you missed it. Against the Spurs, they looked like they belong.

1. No. We've never had a GM this competent in the draft.

2. It's good to see us Hawk fans excited about the future for a change.

3. With 4 picks in the draft, would you rather keep all four, or trade up to garner one top rated prospect in the lottery?

Great game by Jenk and Scott against the Spur's A-team. I can defiantly see Jenk improving a lot this summer and giving heavy competition for the starting SG spot. as for Scott, I'm interested to see what numbers he puts up in summer league, and i think by the time next year, he could be used as a starting SF in a pinch.

Good question. This draft is so reviled for its lack of a star that, even though you usually can't trade up easily, this might be the year you can. Thing is, we'd have to be settled on one guy pretty strongly. I have no idea who that could be.

I hear ya, I'm just terrified by the thought of potentially having 6 players with less than 2 years exp. (JJ, Scott + four rookies).

We'd also have to spend heavily on the free agent market to meet the minimum salary cap requirements for the other five roster spots.

Gutsiest Hawks performance in ages. Pulled a Spurs on the Spurs.

Zeller could be dropping in the draft. His sophomore season has been a disappointment but if the Hawks could trade up for him, it could still be a safe pick as long as a team doesn't view him as a #1.
