Lakers about to lose to Milwaukee.

Dallas is losing to Indiana.

If you want the Jazz to make the playoffs then this is good news.

Who had the tie breaker between the Jazz and the Lakers?

Nice work putting this thread together.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

this draft sucks a big one and we already won too much to get a really high pick. so yeah, i want the jazz to make the playoffs. we're already so close.

Good news. LA and Dallas lost. We could make the playoffs. We need 2 wins out of the 4 on the road. I hope we can beat Portland tonight. That would put us so much closer.

Nice Man!!! I think you got it spot on, Jazz are sure fire in the playoffs....But I see us tying Dallas or Lakers.

41 wins for Jazz is a given, Jazz just need 3 more wins to hit .500 and we got 5 more home games, which I believe we will win 3 of them minimum.

If Jazz really want to make an impression, then I demand 50% wins on the road...Which means beating Minn and at least one of the two between Warriors and Grizzles. A win against both them two would be really nice.

I definitely think Lakers are biggest threat, Dallas is a little too little to late. Lakers have major injuries in Artest, not to mention Kobe and Nash are on day to day, and are probably in late season pain from working so hard to keep up. Surprsingly Kanter was our late season injury which sucks, cause if he misses the playoffs, then he isn't going to get that experience that he is already losing out on by being benched and now injured, total setback for future Jazz.

Dallas is 1-2 as I predicted.
Lakers 2-1 as I predicted
Jazz 3-0, better than expected.
Blazers is 0-3 and out of the race. I predicted 1-2.

So everybody is going as I predicted or better. :)

With the Lakers beating Dallas last night, you can pretty much eliminate Dallas from the conversation. They are 2.5 behind the Lakers and Jazz with 7 games to go. There is no way they pass both LA and Utah. Portland is done as well 5.5 games back.

So with 7 games to go, we need to match the Lakers record.

Jazz remaining games:

vs Denver
vs NO
@ Golden State
vs OKC
vs Minnesota
@ Minnesota
@ Memphis

None of these are a back to back

Lakers remaining games:

vs Memphis
@ Clippers
vs NO
@ Portland (2nd night of back to back)
vs Golden State
vs San Antonio
vs Houston

I think 5-2 for the Jazz absolutely gets them in (the Lakers would have to go 6-1). 4-3 probably gets the Jazz in (the Lakers would have to go 5-2). One thing that is very interesting is if it comes down to the last game, will the games for Memphis and Houston have any meaning for them or will they be locked into their seed?

A Lakers win tonight against Memphis would really hurt our odds. Its one of the toughest games they have left. Luckily it is still a game of importance for Memphis too.

Lakers really have us by the balls. What is so stupid is, we don't even have to beat them, we just have to tie them, and they know it. All we had to do was match April wins to go, and now were down 1, and they won MEM who was the toughest of them all, and a team who needed a win also.

LAKERS LOST!!!!

I think we might have a shot...they might have 3 home games, but they still have SAS, HOU and DAL...Not to mention if Golden State or Houston lose some more, we might actually get better than 8th....

I guess we will know soon enough, I just know that every game is a must win and anymore losses mean no playoffs.

Return to Utah Jazz
