Bring back Woodson?

Sounds like Woodson isn't getting any offers from around the league.

Is there a chance he could come back?

Doubt it. Age, injury and asking price will not be attractive to Ted Thompson and rightfully so. He was an amazing player for us but his time is gone. For the most part we are pretty set in the secondary, except at safety. Pack will most likely address that need through the draft rather then sign an aging player who really has not been able to play much for us the past 2 years.

There is a reason teams aren't going after him. He's lost about two steps.

I feel bad for Chuck, he's a proud man destined for the HOF and still wants to play, but father time catches up with all athletes, even the great ones. Their body just can't do anymore what their brain is telling them to do.

Next thing you know, they are a step or two late in getting back to that receiver streaking past them down the field or they can't get to the guy with the ball even if it looks like a good angle is there.

Mix in that Charles doesn't play special teams if signed as a backup/depth, it explains why he no longer has a job.

Once an athlete gets in their 30's, birthdays should no longer be viewed as something to celebrate.

This sounds like we have not given him a shot already...

I think he can still play. Last season was lost due to injury.

with our cap space pretty much alloted to draft, AR & Clay , TT wouldn't offer much over minimum and don' think Woody goes for that.

He may be able to play for somebody, but he's realistically our fourth best corner and who knows if he can stay healthy enough to play safety. I'll still wear my Woodson jersey every week, but I get it.

Yeah. I'd definitely play him at safety exclusively.

To me he seems like he's become too slow to play corner and he doesn't seem like he's durable enough to play safety. I'd bring him in if he is comfortable taking the minimum salary and playing the 'mentor' role as opposed to being an every down player.

Move on. I don't think Chuck would be a quiet in as with a role like Driver's last season. Even if he were that doesn't really help us much if at all. Continue the youth movement.

I would like to have him come back as a coach if he wants to do that.

if we don't take a safety in the draft, i'm totally fine re-signing Chuck for the season.
