KG coming back to play this early, signals to me that the Celtics DO NOT want to face the Knicks in the 1st round.
They will do everything in their power to win all their remaining games and catch Atlanta and move up to 6th.

Me too

You can't count out an experienced team like Boston

however with home court we should have a significant advantage

what really worries me are the refs
they officiate very differently with Boston then anyone else

Not concerned at all. At this point we match up well against them. Pundits want to talk about KG like he can disrupt Melo. 1) If KG is on Melo, who is in the paint with Chandler/Martin/Camby? 2) Celtics HAVE TO go small, which favors us. They can not stop Melo, Amare, JR, COPE, Felton.

Hawks at least have guys who can score in the paint. IMO there are 3.5 real teams in the east. Knicks, Pacers, Heat and Bulls. If Rose comes back, I feel like he will have a strong impact on his team and take them to a higher level.

The only thing about the Celtics that frightens me is their potential to injure our players, and referee bais aka KG getting to maul Melo all game with no calls.

IMO Melo needs to start being a politician and trying to be nice to refs, maybe send them gift baskets, give their kids access to his camps and such. signed jerseys whatever

Knicks vs Hawks would be a dream.
Boston could also knock out the Pacers.

Then the Knicks would play Boston in the 2nd round and I believe the Knicks win 4-2.

SwaggedOut30 wrote:Theres a lil concern, but I learned we cant pick and chose who we want in the playoffs. IF this team is as good as we think, and we feel we can beat Miami, we can certainly beat the Celtics. Boston wont lie down, but If we play our game, we have a great chance in beating them 4-1. We have Martin to guard KG, and JR & Shump to make it difficult on Pierce. We need a hard series to get us mentally and physically prepared for the Bulls or Pacers, followed by a Miami showdown.

Right on

I believe we need to be tested before we meet Miami in the CF. (Which we will) I am not concerned about who we face at this point and I know the knicks will win so its not as fair for me to assess, but I am sure we could end up going to a game 7 with Boston in the first round while Miami whoops Milwaukee and takes a rest.

We are some Kind of upstart, Young Team that does not know the ropes. Chandler, Melo, KMart, Kidd etc. have all been in countless Playoff wars and they will not be one bit intimidated by Boston and anything they will throw at us. They will not Outsmart us or outtough us and it will take a lot more to take down this Knicks Team... they will put up a hard fight but we are clearly the better Team...
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

They have KG coming back too, and Green is playing great right now. They have the defense and firepower to contend with us so I'm a bit concerned.

Opinions?

They won't be an easy out but I'm not concerned either. Losing Allen was huge for them playoff wise. Jason Terry as well as he fit on those Dallas teams has not had the same fit with Celts. The main reason I'm not concerned is that the Knicks are just a better team. The only thing that would worry me is if miraculously Rondo came back full strength for them.

BTW from a historical POV it would be fitting to beat the Celts. In the 90's the Knicks beat the Larry Bird Celts towards the tail end of that team and it was widely seen as a changing of the guard.

Are you kidding? It better be the damn Celtics. They are the best test for this team in the first round, and if they want to beat the Pacers they better make quick work of the Celtics.

I predict it ending in 5.

I'm not concerned about facing anyone, including the Heat. The only way to win a title is to beat the teams in front of you. Just enjoy the ride.

Never under estimate the Celtics. Never. Knick fans should know this by now

Hawks have 4 games left:

@ Philly
vs. Bucks
vs. Raptors
@ Knicks

Boston has 5 games left:

vs. Nets
@ Miami
@Orlando
vs. Pacers
@ Toronto

I can see the hawks finishing 2-2.
Which means the Celtics need to finish 4-1. Can they do it?

Boston beat the Hawks 3-1 this year, so they own the tiebreaker.

All I know is I want to send them packing on their floor in front of their fans and crowd noise generators.

It's simple... If the Knicks have a chance against Miami- then, they can beat the Celtics...

The team that I saw on the road last night against the Thunder can beat the Celtics... So to answer the OP: NO!!!

Dream scenario for me:

We get the Hawks first round, beat em.
Celtics and Pacers battle it out, series goes to 7 and Celts win it.

Then we beat the Celtics in the 2nd round :D
