Moute is not crap. He is only reason they are even 8th seed material. I would have traded our 7th for Moute and their 1st. Moute on an hella cheap contract for what GSW needed. So don't think GSW can get him from Mil for cheap.

Read closer buddy I said crap offensively. He's not better than Sanders or Ersan either.

If we lose Jarret Jack then we should go after Eric Gordon. Hornets are desperate to get rid of him and a package of Jefferson/Rush might get the trade done.

I'd rather use money to get Al Jefferson. Gordon is in the same mold as BD. With too many injuries. I remember a young BD dunking over big men. He has a killer contract. Big Al is a legit big who can score in the post in the NBA

No interest in Jefferson or Gordon. Jefferson's biggest accomplishment in his career is leading a team to an 8 seed and sweep. His teams are mediocre at best because his impact is. Not worth the money he'll command. Gordon is a whiner who is extremely overpaid and fragile. Never put together a full season. And no way Jefferson and Rush nets Gordon.

Our starters are workable, but our backup bigs don't offer much in terms of different style of play or are just not good enough to get meaningful minutes. We need a defensive minded PF who can play spot minutes at C also. I only like Landry if Lee were to get injured, but don't like the idea of them playing major minutes together.

Would really like to get Henson from Milwaukee to groom as a future PF and bring a defensive impact off our bench.

I highly doubt Jazz will help us in a S&T unless we give something of substantial value. We also have Bogut and Lee under contract next season, so a trade is unlikely unless Utah wants Bogut.

I think Al Jefferson as a replacement for lee could work. He's a better 1 on 1 scorer than Lee and commands doubles, especially if he plays as a 4 next to bogut who can mitigate his lack of interior defense. I think he may be a better rebounder than lee, not really sure if the numbers back that up or not, but from my eyes it seems like he is. Obviously no where near the passer lee is but with bogut in tow, having 2 bigs that can pass is a luxury that we can sacrifice. But I want him as a 4 not as a replacement for bogut.

Can we even get a sign and traded player since we are a tax payer? Never bothered to read the rule but I remember reading something along those lines.

Next year Steph's extension kicks in we'd be over the tax by several millions even before Jack unless there's a serious increase in the tax line.

Which is increasingly likely after one stagnant year + the economy picking up.

And IIRC, Steph's extension will only count as BYC against the tax-line, unless they eliminated that in the new CBA. So even if Landry opts in along with Rush, we should still be under the tax line unless we ink Jack to something big (I think starting at 7m).

But we've always got the stretch provision we can use on Rush if need be.

Offseason deal:

2014 1st (lotto protected) + Dancing Bear + Richard Jefferson + Brandon Rush (opting in)

for

Andrei Kirilenko + Brandon Roy (cut, saving 5m)

Saves cap, gives us a backup F... I'd be willing to risk a 15 or higher pick along with the Bear for one year of Kirilenko

I like it but would prefer to do it for a 2015 pick. Next years draft could be so deep the some good players could be available in the 17-20 range. Especially if some of the higher rated guys like Oladipo, Burke return.

Plus with cap space in 2014 hopefully we can make improvements to the point where a 1st rounder as the throw in for swapping Kirielenko for Jefferson even better. Yes we Kahn.

Any way we can get a pick to get Giorgui Dieng? Great size and mobility, awesome defender, smart player who's improved vastly the last few years, tough rebounder, good passer, high IQ, improving jumpshot out to the 18 foot range. Guy would be such an awesome fit.

Was coming into the thread to post exactly this

You're 100% spot on. Every time I see him I always think how perfect he would be for this team off the bench. He reminds of a AK47 lite and that's someone worth taking. Maybe a 2014 1st and expiring for Dieng and a 2 year deal?

He's projected mid to late first rounder. His shot blocking is elite...but not much else.

We could possibly buy a first or something. If they really want him, they could probably get some sort of deal done.

First time I can recall that we don't have a first or second round pick. I think it is a good draft overall to not have a pick, though there are some interesting players out there.

Not sure how much I would try and buy or make a trade to get into this draft.

I want Aaron Craft from Ohio State. I think the kid is a winner and his defense from the guard/wing spot is special.

He's not even on a few of the mocks, so I think he's a guy we could purchase. He's about 6'4" and can run the team. He's an effing bulldog and his offense is under-rated.

As long as you have one skill that is elite you can be effective. Festus Ezeli was an elite shot blocker too, but Dieng is an effective 2 way player. He's got great size and speed. Size and strength of a C with enough quickness to easily cover PFs. He can rebound well. On offense he has a midrange shooting ability, although not a post player, has moves to use in the post like a nice baby hook that is consistent and should not be a problem getting off in the NBA at his size with a 7'6 wing span. He's also got pretty great vision for a big. Good with touch passes and finding the open man when someone rotates to him around the hoop. 6 assist last night. Plus his offensive game has improved leaps and bounds after being very raw when he was brought over from Senegal and started playing organized basketball like 5 years ago. He won't ever be a volume scorer in the NBA but that won't be his role. He could be an elite defensive player and not a liability on offense (probably a pretty solid release valve) and could very well end up being a solid contributor on that end of the floor some day.

Maybe I'm too unrealistic but maybe a trade could be worked out with Washington.

David Lee + future pick (preferably 2015 or 2014 with top 20 protection)

for Nene + #10.

Lee is coming off an allstar season and Nene missed some time for a team that appears to be in win-now mode. In a perceived weak draft, it's possible they gamble on Lee having the healthier season than Nene. Nene when healthy is a better fit on our roster and our FO expressed interest in him so it's possible. Grunfeld has made win now moves recently in acquiring Nene/Ariza/ Okafor and trading the #5 pick a few years ago for Mike Miller and in general doesn't seem to use lots of draft picks wisely.

Only negative is Nene having health problems which is risky with players like Bogut and Curry, but a big man rotation of Nene/Bogut/Dieng would be beast and compliment our young backcourt rotation well. All 3 could play small ball C better than Lee and defend PFs better.

Also would only do the trade after the pick is made at 10 as there are not many guys in this draft I would see as as a fit for this need who also has potential to be a future starter.
