Apparently Metta will live to fight another day as a Laker. As crazy as it might sound, Metta will apparently start against the Hornets. Hard to believe MDA would give him the go, especially after coming off knee surgery himself. Both of them are headcases IMHO.

Neither party is crazy in this situation. MWP underwent a menisectomy where a part of the, most likely, avascular region of his meniscus was shaved off. Because there is a lack of vascularization to the meniscus, when the meniscus is shaved down the only thing left to be 'healed' is the incision and tissue damaged via the arthroscopic surgery. Current protocols may have players return to sport specific activity in as little as 3-4 weeks (Example protocol source: http://xnet.kp.org/socal_rehabspecialis ... ectomy.pdf).

The true damage of the menisectomy is the long term damage due to the lack of meniscus, which may lead to degenerative knee changes, osteoarthritis, further meniscal tears...

If MWP has demonstrated proper strength, range of motion (ROM), and ability to perform sport specific activity without severely bringing on acute inflammation, he should be able to play.

Yes. Maybe its small one, but the thought of getting to play for the Los Angeles Lakers with a healthy Dwight (if he re-signs) and enough cap room for another star will definitely cross his mind.

That itself is a good enough reason to not mess it all up by trading away our expirings for some overpaid, multi-year contract scrubs.

I wouldn't exactly call a team with Kobe, Dwight, Pau and Nash a down year that us fans have to "suffer" through. The possible reward is definitely worth the "risk" of sticking with those guys for another year.

I'll be lying if I said I didn't want Lebrun on my team.. but I have a better chance at winning the lottery or getting struck by lighting then Lebrun being a laker. It's just not going to happen IMO

As for metta, I'm glad he's gonna be back no more excuse about fatigue being the reason why we lose
