I'm honestly wondering how many minutes either Poythress or Cauley-Stein will get on that team next year. They both have obvious upside, there's no doubt about that, but that recruiting class is arguably the best ever (if they land Wiggins, then there any shred of an argument there is now against that completely evaporates) and talent trumps.

There's only 200 minutes per game and you know that PG Harrison and Randle will be taking more than 50 of them and you can put another 25-30 on Wiggins if he joins. Johnson will be better than Cauley-Stein on Day 1 and should see the lion's share of the minutes in the post while some of the backup minutes will be used for "smaller" lineups with Randle sliding over to C. Poythress is behind Randle and possibly Lee at PF and probably behind Young at SF (I'm thinking that Calipari wouldn't want to touch the synergy of the twins at the G positions). Hood and Wiltjer are the only experienced shooters so they should see situational minutes at the least. Sure, these things generally will work themselves out, but the decision to return could blow up in his face if one of them is getting 10 or less minutes per.

Dakari Johnson is so overrated... no way he steal any minute from Cauley-Stein, no way.

Lee isnt going to play that much either, both of them will have to return for Sophomore season, like Young, no doubt.

Poythress will be in trouble if Wiggins commit too.

I don't see why he wouldn't. He never plays.

I think there is a happy medium. I think we'll see Cauley-Stein starting then perhaps Johnson taking over by the end. It should be roughly 22/18 for McCauley then gradually switch more to Johnson as the season progresses.

Harrison (32) / Harrison (8)
Harrison (20) / Young (20)
Poythress (24) / Young (12) / Randle (4)
Randle (28) / Lee (8) / Wiltjer (4)
Cauley-Stein (22) / Johnson (18)

Something like that.

Lee will see more PT cause of his defense/length. Poor Wiltjer...

How's Elliot doing? Is he ever going to play again or is he going the Roy/Oden route?

Just another causalty of the Calipari system. Theres no way I would 1and done with Calipari unless there was a Rose/Wall/Knight PG in the same class as me. If you dont have a NBA PG then the offense is going to look like crap and I would not devolpe and hurt my draft stock.

If your going to one and done and then you need to find a school with a good upperclassman PG that plays an offense that is suited to you. Goodwin might be better than Harris but because Harris plays in a good offense and has quality PGs he looks miles ahead of any UK player.

Eleqtrique wrote:Burks is a good comparison. He's worked his tail off and has improved his jumpshot. He's getting backup minutes at both guard spots and has been doing a good job defending point guards.

He's probably going to start next season as the Jazz are going to give the youngsters a chance to develop aka perform the ultimate tank for 2014.

.

This Jazz fan has seen how Burks gets to the line in an elite way......and can put up 12 to 22 points whenever they play him for more than 30 minutes.

If Giannis grows another 2-3 inches he is a sure thing though.

Aaron Harrison is JR Smith 2.0, good thing his bro is legit cause he wouldn't be ranked that high.. Young is better. .

JR Smith 2.0 would be an elite player. All Smith needs is a brain, I'd take a Smith with a brain as a top 5 SG easy

Lebron made it to the finals with that cleveland team.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

I'd take Michael Beasley brain but I'm not getting my hopes up...

What I meant to say was I want Beasley to grow a brain, not I want 'his' brain.
