BC: F (Pure trash)

Casey: D- (He's not head coach material... but makes a good assistant for defensive reasons... I left his rotations out of his actual grade in order to spear him the F)

Bargs: F (He came back a failure in all category's... he lacks a serious amount of work ethic and desire to be better)

Demar: B- (Better D would have helped his grade and the ability to still show up against better defenders but his overall improvement cannot be ignore... he's a gym rat... Bargs should have spent more time doing what DeMar does... Practice)

JV: A+ ( He's a rookie so some of his flaws can easily be overlooked... when the chances were giving he did great... can't wait to see him next year)

Amir: A+ ("Beware of Amir"... I always say this everytime this guy wins a hustle play... which means I say it a lot... can't wait to see him and a more improved and hopefully unleashed JV back together next year)

Ross: C- ( He did have much chances but what he did when chances came his way killed his grade... He took bad shots like he's Anderson's little brother in training... He played a lot of bad D which seemed to be due to a lack of effort which to me is worst than not have the raw talent to do so... because where there's a will there's a way; always)

Fields: C (Not his fault he didn't live up to a overpriced contract... his D was good)

Gray: D (Only cause he filled in when injury's hit us... otherwise F)

Pietrus: F (Did nothing for us... another waste BC signing)

Kleiza: F (Similar to above... what a great couple they'd make)

Telfair: C (Did OK for what was expected)

Lowry: C- (B- because he was forced to adjust his actual game... had he stayed himself like early in the season he'd get a A- or better... had he played completely like he was being molded to play he'd get a D- or an F)

Rudy: B- (Bad shots and inefficiency lowered his grade... the clutch factor helps though)

Acy: C+ (Loved his demeanor... can't wait to see if he can develop what it takes to be a decent undersized big)

Lucas: D+ (The pre-season was his only good moment and it meant nothing... other than that he played the role of PG but never really looked to hook up teammates... if he missed as many shots as Anderson did when there was a better shot available he'd be sitting on a F)

Anderson: F (He had some big shots but with his rate of chucking he's bound to have big shots... his crazy attempts that caused us games destroyed his grade and if I could give anything worst than a F... he'd get it... Poor team play just upsets me so much.

I can't take people who knock Aaron Gray seriously. He has totally played his role. Funny how people will rank Acy ahead of Gray. Just a popularity contest.

And anyway, still 5 more games to go. If we tore through a 5 game winning streak now, MLSE would give BC an A, and BC would give the team a B. Bargs would get a D.

JV - Really the only thing keeping me interested. A
Amir - He's the man. Hope to see him in Toronto until he retires, but also want to see him win. A

Gay, Anderson - Really don't know what to think. I still believe (or want to believe) both these guys can be big for us (Rudy as a starter, AA off the bench), but need better coaching. Though I think AA will get better money from another team. He'd be perfect coming off the bench for a contender

Ross - Hasn't shown me he can replace DD, which was what I was hoping for if DD's game remained the same. And all I can think of is we **** up not taking Drummond. D

I hate everyone else. I now have Lowry up there with Bargs and DD as guys who just need to gtfo this team. This team is an embarrassment. I don't think the roster can be fixed any time soon so a new coach and GM are desperately needed for some new blood and differnt vision

BC---He needs to go, everybody has been wanting this man gone for years. Signing Fields with that awful contract took the cake. Overall Grade: F

Casey: Baffling subsitutions. Pound the Rock and get worse. We are, Raptors basketball. Overall: F

Bargnani: Soft. Lazy. Can't rebound or play help D. I'de rather have Solomon Alabi on my squad than this scrub. Overall: F

Demar: His offensive game improved, but his defense is turrible. Its worse than Jose's "right this way" meme. Overall: C-

Air Aaron Gray: He is in the NBA because of his size. Nothing else. He can set good screens too. But he's also a sloth, super slow. I still remember when he tried to double on Kobe during that crucial game, and he easily got blown by. Overall: D -

Amir Johnson: This guy has improved, and he's a workhorse. He rebounds well, runs the floor well, and he's a hustler. He's a guy any team would love to have. I'm very impressed with him this year. Overall: A-

JV: He is showing signs of what could be. He's a big man with a great touch around the basket. Love what I'm seeing. He works very hard. But he needs to get stronger, and a couple of counter post moves in the low block wouldn't hurt. But he's only 20, and I'm excited as to what he will be in 4 or 5 years. Overall: A

Terrence Ross: He won the slam dunk contest, but he hasn't been playing up to what he should be doing since the all star break. Sometimes he doesn't try on defense, and he's a very streaky shooter. One night he's hot, and the next he's building a brick house. Overall: C

Turd: Chucker and a midget. Overall: D-

Anderson: "Chuck until our arms peel off" Ballhog. Overall: D

Rudy: Mr. Inefficient. Overall: B

Fields: D

Pietrus: F

Kleiza: F

Telfair: C

Lowry: B-

Acy: C

So you hate everyone except Amir and JV.
Thanks for wasting my time.

I think you have to grade everyone based on their expectations. I would give Lowry a lower score than Gray b/c Lowry was supposed to be a huge upgrade over Jose, while Gray was supposed to be just a 5th big, 6 fouls, and a live body.

BC - D
- Desperate year, and showed all over his plans
- Bad: Signed Fields for a massive overpay contract
- Bad: Traded for Lowry for a slightly over price lottery 1st
- Bad: Signed DeRozan before he is proven
- Bad: Trying to trade Bargnani and make things worse
- Bad: Too much focus on marketing, while forgot about the basic needs for the fans (winning)
- Good: Traded for Gay with an expiring and a lottery pick
- Good: Signed Alan Anderson in the offseason
- Good: Traded for Telfair for an experimental period
- Good: Continue to build around Jonas and Gay

Casey - B
- Bad: On court decision (timeout, substitution management, timeout play)
- Bad: Offensive play (too much focus on long 2s, played too safe, no strategy to break opposing mental)
- Bad: Injury management
- Good: Stay focus on defense, and players committed on defense
- Good: Stay as a team, deal issues internally
- Good: Player and personality management
- Good: Be competitive, play veteran to keep everyone in the season
- Good: Learning from mistakes
- Good: Player improvement over the offseason

Bargnani - E
- Bad: Not shooting well (his strength)
- Bad: Lack of help defense
- Bad: Injury
- Bad: Decision making on the defensive end
- Bad: No improvement as a big man, gain weight in offseason
- Good: Lighter and more agile after injury
- Good: Man/post defense

DeRozan - D
- Bad: Cannot take over games with second unit
- Bad: Cannot create his own shot, but rely on system or other players
- Bad: Cannot consistently shoot the 3
- Bad: Cannot contain his own man
- Good: Improved on help defense
- Good: Consistent in long 2
- Good: Slightly better ball handling, not getting trapped
- Good: Being aggressive when having mismatch

Lowry - C
- Bad: Bad defense in the early season, gambles too much
- Bad: Go for rebound too often, and forgot his man in transition
- Good: Willing to accept a passing role (could be the turning point of his career, reminds me of Billups)
- Good: Trusting his teammates, and willing to take the leadership
- Good: Wants to win and plays tough
- Good: Good 3 point shooter

Gay - A
- Bad: Injury
- Bad: Lack of court vision on the move
- Good: Work with Jonas, pass him in the post, get others involved
- Good: Good perimeter defense
- Good: Can score in various ways
- Good: Enjoy playing in Toronto with Lowry

I don't want to judge rookies or role players, they are not meant to carry the team.

Rudy Gay gets an A? I know we're all entitled to our opinions, but that is borderline unjustifiable.

Im ny view, Grades should be based on production, not surprassing your expectation. Val should not get a good grade merely because he is a rookie. A C+ grade is good for a rookie.

BC: D- (he made 1 good move in getting Gay that will be decent for the team next year but everything else fell flat)
Casey: F (Liked him last year but really really sucked this year, so many baffling rotations that cost games, when Gay first came in, Gay made his team run the floor and it worked, Casey quickly put a stop to this and Gays game has suffered as hes a great open court player. With the peices we have like Demar, Jonas, Gay, Ross, Lowry, this team is built to run, Casey's system is slow paced, its mismatched right now.)
Bargs: F
Demar: C+ (Played decent offense bad defensive, I really really wanted him to do more post moves like he did in summer league and the beginning of the year when he gained a lot of strength but stopped going to it mid season.)
JV: A- (slow start, but showed so much energy and enthusiasm which is a mark of a good player. Big man that runs the floor. He is now showing more and more and improving at such a fast rate, and will be a top center in this league)
Amir: A (gave everything he had and more, a warrior and one of the few bright points)
Ross: C+ (rough second half, but he has shown he can play, next year will be the real test for him, he needs experience playing though which Casey hasn't been doing as AA plays better d than him)
Fields: C+ (offense aside, Fields brings everything you want in a glue guy, good d, rebounding, excellent off ball movement, actually some of the best back door cuts Ive seen from a Raptor in years. If he can just pick up a consistent corner 3 shot, he will be a perfect glue guy off the bench. He played terrible to start but settled down in the second half and brought a lot of the intangibles)
Gray: C- (I can't blame Gray, hes an end of bencher put in situations by Casey which was out of his league. Hes actually a good fill in for a few minutes to give some minutes at C, but out side of that his offense is a liability. Every team needs someone like him thats cheap and can play a few minutes every 10 games or so, though personally I rather it be a veteran big man to tutor JV.)
Pietrus: D- (hes no where close to what he was a few years ago, slightly better shot than fields, but fields )
Kleiza: D (dude didn't play, cant pass judgement. I actually thought he would have been a decent scoring option off the bench when healthy)
Telfair: C- (hes just a stop gap solution, hes not the same as his Portland days, but at least can ball handle a bit)
Lowry: C+ (Kind of disappointed in him, particularly when he was given the reigns twice. I really love what he can do but hes gotta bring it every night)
Rudy: B (Great player on a bad team, has had bad shooting nights but theres no denying hes a big time player. His d was much better than what people led us to believe as his length alone changes shots. His strength is on the fast break and open court which he showcased when he first came in and it worked well with the rest of the team, but Casey screwed this over once he got integrated into his slow paced system. A new coach)
Acy: C- (Energy guy, not much else)
Lucas: B- (Gives some much needed scoring off the bench and a pretty good 3 points shooter, every team needs one of those streaky shooters that can shoot them back into games when down, key is just to know when hes cold and bench him.)
Anderson: C+ (Gives great toughness and defense, and decent ball handling off the bench. Streaky shooter who takes way too many bad shots. Relied on way to much and given a green light by Casey though, if he just sticks to spot shooting 3s and playing his tough D, he would be a good guy to come off the bench. If a good coach can reign him in, he would be decent especially since he comes cheap.)
