Bennett may very well be better than GRIII. He may even turn out to be a lot better than GRIII. But to claim that as fact right now is ludicrous.
I said it based on what the players are right now.
The development I've seen from Bennett from last year as a senior at Findlay Prep (five miles down the road from me) to this year at UNLV is the kind of leap you are looking for in a high ceiling prospect. Bennett was the clear leader of his team and put up solid efficiency numbers without the benefit of a point guard on his team. Robinson did improve this year as well, but he had the benefit of a consensus player of the year as his PG to take the pressure off him, not to mention McGary and Hardaway Jr.
Bennett is an alpha type who will be a leader of his team. I don't see that at all with Robinson. Beta players can be solid role players but they won't lead a team. If this Bucks team cleans house in the backcourt like many here hope, they will need a leader who can make a difference on the offensive end.
If you want to call my opinion ludicrous, that's fine. I'm content to see how things turn out down the road. If I need to eat crow, so be it. I think having an opinion one way or the other is more interesting than "it's a crapshoot." No kidding.
