I don't fear Boston or ANYONE. I just think it would be better to face an easier opponent in Round 1. We will eventually meet Boston in the playoffs as we should. Meeting and beating them in Round 2 would still make us have to win by going through them, but it advances us into another round. That helps ease the wear and tear on our older guys, who have been injured all season. I'm all about strategy and not proving a point.

Nevertheless, glad we don't get to decide who we face. Whoever it is, I'm confident we will prevail!

Nothing is easier than facing an old beat up team without their all star pg.

Boston not a threat to do anything anymore.

I hope we get em to officially punch their train ticket to "Rebuild Blvd".

Btw, #2 plays #3 in the second round,

Side note....The Hawks would be motivated to give us hell in the first round.

But doesn't matter, no team should stand a chance

im not scared of BOS one bit.

if they want to run and gun, we will 100000% beat them

if they wanna play slow, we can 10000000% beat them

the only way they can beat us is if they can force us into turnovers AND prevent us from setting up our half court defense.

basically their only way to beat us is by playing godly defensively, forcing us into tons of low % shots, neutralizing our low TO rate/high PPP, and defeating our secondary transition defense.

i just dont see it because they have no one who can push the ball in that scenario with rondo out

Oh please, scared of what? The only advantage Celtics ever had was Rondo. Without him they just can't match us. With homecourt advantage on our side, Celts have no shot of winning in MSG. They might win one or two in Boston butthey are not winning in MSG.

On second thought, I want the Celtics. I want to hear all the excuses. "We didn't have Rondo." "KG was hobbling through all the games." Blah blah blah. They never wanted to hear us cry about injuries but they'll be the first team to point it out when it's their players that get hurt.

A friend of mine is a huge Boston homer and is willing to bet up to 1k that his Celtics will beat my Knicks. Is this real life? And no - my friend is not Bill Simmons.

Celtic fans are delusional. They think they can just show up against NY and our backcourt will magically consist of Mike Bibby and Landry Fields again. Its 2013. Theyre on the way out but still holding on to past glories to make them feel better about their chances in the playoffs. They need to have a bucket of ice water dumped on them to snap them out that fkin dream.

Teams rest their guys around the playoffs so that they go into the post-season strong. They don't play their main guys just to show everybody how tough they are. They think strategically and find the best route to winning it all.

THAT is what we should be doing, not trying to prove an unnecessary point. We have an older team, so why beat them up and possibly go 7 games in Round 1, just to limp into round 2 and possibly the ECF?? That would be stupid. If we could play the Bobcats in Round 1, I'd take that over a team like Boston with tons of playoff experience and a championship. It doesn't make us afraid of Boston to want the clearest path to our goal of winning a championship. It just makes us smart!

Atlanta is nothing to sneeze at. They're a more physical team than Boston and they have more star-power. They're also better equipped to exploit our injured frontcourt. To me the difference between Boston and Atlanta is not as significant as the difference between HCA and not against Indy.

These games must be played on the court but there is no reason, whatsoever, to fear a Boston team who's without the likes of Rajon Rondo who's out for the season along with being without Ray Allen who's now with Miami.

The Celtics top 6 players in which eliminated a watered down Knicks roster of 2010-2011 with Rondo, Ray Allen, Pierce, Garnett, Perkins and 'big baby' Davis is much stronger (understatement) when compared to the likes of Bradley, Terry, Pierce, Green, Garnett and Brandon Bass.

They also have no bench depth whatsoever outside Terry and Lee.

In other words, they're only two games above .500 as a 7th seed for a reason. And it's because they're not a very a good basketball team with little potential come postseason play. Should be a sweep and if they're extremely lucky they'll steal one but can't see it. I believe we dominate the series quite easily.

Carmelo is gone if we lose in the first round again, Mark my words.. i guarantee you he wont pick up his player option and will demand a trade to the clippers to team up with his good ol buddy Chris Paul forming a New BIG 3 in the league CP3, Blake and Melo.

If you think Carmelo wont break the Heart of thousands of New yorkers your sadly mistaken, think about it this years Roster is probably the BEST roster we could ever put together if this squad cant win it then whats next??? your only potential option is trying to Make some block buster trade that nails you another star to put next to Carmelo.

Yo, you do understand that Anthony's player option isn't until after next year, correct? He's coming back next year regardless and chances are he's not leaving New York City. Ever. He wants his jersey hanging up from the rafter and grew up dreaming of leading the Knicks during his childhood days and that's way before ever winning a championship with Syracuse. His heart has always been in New York and could've forced his way into any franchise his heart desired; but he chose New York as the place to become an NBA legend.

Yeah a little. Although we're the better team and I think we'll win, watch Pierce and Garnett pull some magic out of their asses. Not to mention if Green keeps playing well...they'll be tough
