This may be the worst display of defense I have ever seen. This is worse than the Arenas/Jamison days. The Knicks are currently sporting a TS% of .744. Let that sink in for a minute.

I think what's most disappointing about Chris Singleton is that he's not a lock-down defender.

I mean, it sucks that he hasn't developed any offensive game and isn't really good at rebounding or passing but the one thing we were absolutely sure he could do is defend.

I don't wish injuries on anyone, but Kenyon tearing his ACL right now wouldn't make me lose sleep in the least. Has there ever been a more dickish player over the last decade?

I'm sitting at the game and tonight, I actually agree. Lots of hero ball tonight from Wall. 1 assist in the 3rd.

But in fairness Nene has suddenly become completely useless and no Ariza.

There really isn't anything wrong with the offense, well, not with the starting unit, anyhow. The starting unit is 21-42 from the floor and 19-26 from the FT line.

The bench is 3-17 from the field and 1-2 from the line.

The problem is the defense. It's pathetic.

I still have yet to see Jan Vesely make an aggressive offensive move in the post.

Yep, I don't care what the team has been saying about playing for the 9th spot. I think they are starting to mail it in for the summer. Maybe with all of this warm weather, they think its summer already.

Our play in this game wasn't surprising, we've been terrible on the road all season.

Yeah but they're shelling us even when we contest shots and make them take jumpers. They're steamrolling everyone right now. When the Knicks shoot like this, nobody can beat them. Not even Miami. Their end of the bench guys are hitting big time shots. It's demoralizing.

Fans arent giving it to Nene but dude is looking very Blatche like. Totally sucking, playing soft, and all. If this were Dray everyone would be killing him. Even when posting up smaller guys, he's taking one dribble and shooting fade aways which never go in. Wall sets him up on the p&r and never makes it.

I hope we have someone strong enough on our team or staff to get in his asz. Witt better be letting him know. I remember watching Denver on "The Association" and you can tell Karl was so annoyed by him. I remember him telling him that "Im tryign to get you on the All Star team but you cant make the team in the tub".

Nene was like "I know coach, Im going to try to play next game". You can tell Karl was sick of him always hurt and missing games or playing hurt. Now he's even worst with us. Id seriously rather him not play if he's going to play at this level. I dont wanna hear injury as an excuse because its not an excuse if you are always injuried. Its the problem. You have to be healthy.

No excuses next year

You also said we should double team Carmelo and leave open some of the best three-point shooters in the league. Ok.

We all know Nene is injury-prone and a little soft but to compare him to Blatche means you lost any credibility-oh wait.

Jan finished +7  . Clearly we just need to play him 48 minutes a game.

Seriously though, it's time to shut Nene down and start Booker or Seraphin and put Vesely in the rotation. Nene should get off his feet and focus on getting better for next year and the team needs to figure out what it has in the young forwards.

you talk stupid. You crazy if you think we shouldve let Melo play the way he was playing. You dont have to fully double but you have to shade the D or do something. NY was playing like a video game. Literally Melo with the ball on one side and all 4 guys on the other and we kept the other 4 defenders on the other side and let him go one on one for 20+ in the 3rd. Ive never seen someone score so easy. Anyone will tell you that if a guy has it going like that then you take the ball out of his hands. You seriously think you cant shade off of Felton or Kidd?

Randy is an idiot for thinking we'd beat them playing Big. You actually need skilled bigs for that. Nene is playing like 60 % and Okafor's only skill in the post is an occasional jump hook. The inefficiencies by them is just compounded by the fact they can't rotate and run out to the 3 point lines fast enough. This loss is as much on the Randy as it is on the players. Kudos to the knicks for having a historic shooting exhibition, but a competent game plan should have at last made the game watchable.

I dont think theyve mailed it in at all. Theyve looked like crap on the road all the time lately. Ill say theyve mailed it in when they lose at home but winning 9 straight and 18 of 22 is not mailing it in. I honestly wouldnt be shocked if they beat the Heat next game

His first season Jan finished + 1.9 when he replaced Rashard Lewis and others. http://www.82games.com/1112/11WAS14.HTM

This season Vesely is -7.1 backing Okafor and Nene.
http://www.82games.com/1213/12WAS15.HTM

I've seen the same kind of variation in +/- with Javale and with Blatche.

Blatche was plus one year that he backed Jamison but before he was traded about as negative as a player can get. (He's a strong player for Brooklyn, go figure). McGee was plus when Flip never utilized him. However, under Wittman, McGee before he traded was a net negative, as he still very much is with Denver playing behind Koufos and for George Karl. Plus/minus kind of depends on who the player is replacing and the circumstances IMO.

So, what to make of Vesely? In Vesely's first year he actually moved around and the offense of the team was a bit better with him on the court even with him being a terrible offensive player. Vesely is an enigma IMO, not quite as horrible a player as he seems, but he's also a player one has to wonder why he's not much better than he is.
