Cavs really didn't "NEED" the win

Post#1 » by TheOUTLAW » Wed Apr 10, 2013 1:59 am

But man, did they get absolutely screwed worse than I've ever seen done in the NBA. Unbelievable game between the Cavs and Pacers leading to the Cavs losing a 20 pt lead after 3 quarters while the Pacers shoot 31 more free throws.

I don't like to blame the refs, but my god it's hard not to in this situation.

pacers had just gotten blown out for 2 straight games and they miraculously made their comeback today.

Highlights won't show the BS charge either

Interesting, sad stat for Cavaliers fans I'd like to share:

The Cavaliers are now 3-4 (42.8 winning %) this season in games in which they got up by 20 or more points. The rest of the NBA was 379-12 (96.9 winning %) entering Tuesday.

The Cavs are now 4th in lottery position. At this point in a dismal season, there is no reason to win. They are only two games up on Detroit and one game back of Phoenix for the 3rd position.

There is a talent tier at positions and the difference between 4 and 6 is the difference between MacLemore/Porter and Muhammed/Oladipo. (Relative because I don't know how Grant values them).

3) 69.5% chance of landing a top-4 pick
4) 47.7% chance of landing a top-4 pick
5) 29.2% chance of landing a top-4 pick

At the beginning of the season I root for wins. Once they are out of it and cannot make the playoffs, I root for draft positioning and continued improvement by the young guys (Thompson and Zeller, with Waiters out).

I always root for wins. Losses are going to happen regardless.
