Is it too homerish (not really a huge Bobcats fan, but I am a Henderson fan) for me to suggest Henderson >>> Derozan?

Derozan LOOKS like he's supposed to be the better player (given the whole "potential" tag people associate his name with), but when you actually break down their games, there's really nothing he does better than Henderson, except maybe ball-handling, which he is pretty mediocre at as well.

I think Hendo and DeRozan are about equal at this point. DeRozan has the height, length, and size so there's more potential blah blah blah advantage but Hendo is having a better season when you consider percentages and a more complete game to boot.

i've always thought Hendo was better basketball player than DeRozan, the difference for a while was Toronto handed Demar a bigger role early on and he is younger.

The ONE game of his I get to watch live (last night against MIA on natl TV) he stinks up the joint. Refs were brutal, seems like he got fouled every time he went to the hoop.

Good to see him pick it up tonight. Wish they could've came out with the W though.

I think Derozan was better at the beginning of the season, but it was mostly due to Henderson's injury and due to Derozan's early season hot streak/improved role. Ever since Hendo picked it up in February, it's been fairly clear Henderson was the superior player. I don't expect Hendo to get Derozan's contract, but then again, I didn't expect Derozan to get Derozan's contract. I expected Derozan to get in the neighborhood of $6-$7M, and right now I expect Henderson to get about $1M more.

A little consolation for the Brook Lopez debacle.

Henderson would actually be perfect for the Wolves imo.

His slashing/post game would be a thing of beauty in this lineup

Rubio/Henderson/Kirilenko/Love/Pekovic

NASTY.

Is that enough shooting to spread the floor for Rubio? Best shooter in that lineup is probably who, Love?

Either way, adding any sort of decent 2 to the T-Wolves would be a big improvement for them.

his 3pt% has steadily improved up to 33% this year.

If he keeps working on it, and especially with the better looks he will get at the Wolves he could be a solid shooter.

Not great, but he could be a solid role player.

Love is their best shooter either way, which is both a pro and a con in terms of his and his teams production, I think they have a legitimite one-two punch in Love and Pek but to maximise both Love and Minnesota's potential prodction they need a quality jack of all trades two way SG who has a slashing, spot up, post and mid range game.

Sounds like Hendo to me...

Outside of Love, there is no consistent shooting from outside on Minny's roster. Rubio and AK47 aren't consistent from outside, and neither is Hendo as of right now. I think Ben Gordon would be an amazing fit. I've always said that Gordon needed to be on a playoff team to be effective, even before he came here. Minnesota is a low-end playoff team if they're healthy. Next to Rubio, Gordon can fire away all day from deep.

I do like Henderson's fit with that roster as well and I'm pretty thankful that Minnesota's not likely to have the cap space to offer Henderson a big enough contract to force him away from us. They'd have to ditch Pekovic or someone to do that, and they wouldn't do that.

You know who else would be a great fit for them? Ben McLemore.

Since the start of February, Hendo is 22nd in the NBA in scoring. Not a bad top-25 to be a part of, either:

Since March 1st, Gerald is 17th in scoring, ahead of Irving, Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, Dirk and right behind Duncan, Wade, and Lillard.

That is highly debateable. Hendo is obviously playing for a new contract, and Demar's stats no doubt took a hit with the addition of Rudy Gay. At the end of the day Hendo is going to finish the season no more than 16 ppg and Demar is going to finish it no less than 17 ppg. At best they are equivalent. No way is Hendo superior.

Hendo is superior across the board--better defender, rebounder, passer, and shooter, and more efficient. More points per game =/= better player.

More importantly, though, DeRozan hasn't had a two-plus month stretch like the one Hendo is having. If he had, surely Raptors fans would be more optimistic about him.

People really need to get over PPG as an indicator of who is > who.
