Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter took batting practice on Wednesday for the first time since March 23.
He also fielded ground balls, threw to first base and ran three "arcs" in the outfield grass at the Yankees' Minor League complex
New York manager Joe Girardi considered it a "big step" as Jeter continues to test his surgically repaired left ankle.
Curtis Granderson was in center field tracking line drives and fly balls and flipping the balls back underhanded.
Granderson, still wearing a brace on his fractured right forearm, said he should be able to start a throwing program Thursday.
