Scouting request....
Knick fan...I come in peace.
Can someone give me a little insight on James Singleton's last season with you guys?
We signed him today and cut trusty war horse Kurt Thomas.
We're sad to see him go but I recall Singleton being a pretty solid effort guy with an improved jump shot.
I think he'll be a solid addition to my crew.
Can someone help me out some?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Scouting request....
you better get off this board before you get hurt. Everyone on here loves Singelton and wish we had kept him. We would take him over any big on our roster right now except maybe a healthy Nene but he's never healthy so him too.
I might be going overboard but if he can get into the system quickly, I truly may for the 1st time believe that you guys could beat the Heat. If he played like he can then I would pick you over everyone else in the East. He has a nice consistent J with range.
He's hardcore & physical. He actually kinda reminds me of a younger K-Mart. Has a no fear attitude, is the perfect role player, and will fight for everything. Great pickup

Re: Scouting request....
Yeah, Singleton had an incredible stretch of games last year for the Wizards. It was probably a small sample size fluke though. He's not THAT good. Nevertheless, he's a pretty good role player and it amazes me that he doesn't get a regular rotation spot somewhere in this league. He just prefers to play more minutes in China, I guess. He's a hard worker, a good defender, a good rebounder and has developed a pretty good perimeter shot. Basically, he's every bit as good as a guy like Udonis Haslem.

Re: Scouting request....
That's still better than every big on the Wiz sans Nene.
He can knock down long jumpers too. Think Copeland but not so awful on defense. He also always seemed to make the "right" play.

RIP James Singleton's Wiz Career. We traded you in for Chris "Line Drive" Singleton.

Re: Scouting request....
Singleton had ~200 really good minutes last year. Before that...not so good. Likable guy. Works hard, plays hard -- always give full effort. I don't think it's super likely that he'll replicate what he did for a couple hundred minutes with the Wizards, but he should be able to help the Knicks.

FYI, he averaged 13 and 11 per36 last year, with a PER of 19.6

He was also a great teammate. He seemed like a good locker room guy. Wall was clear that he wanted him back but I guess Ernie thought our young "talent" was enough

Re: Scouting request....
Looks like I understated his minutes a little. He played 262 minutes last season.

well it also depends on the team. I know for a fact, even if he wasnt as great as he played, he would still beast with us right now. The way Wall is playing, Singelton would put very good numbers and Wall woiuld love him.

Think of him as a smaller younger Kurt Thomas. A little under-sized, but he has always been a good rebounder - even before he was a Wizard. You know you'll get max effort whenever he's in there.

Yeah but probably only ~200 of those were "good" minutes. You're still solid, Kev.
