+1

There are many good players in this draft.

From the 2012 draft, Anthony Davis is the best rookie IMO but he was hurt. Drummond will impact games a lot more than expected. People expected Valanciunas to be good and he is. Lillard is a great talent already. Beal has durability concerns but he's the real deal. Dion Waiters couldn't stay healthy, either, but he is who he was thought to be, a streaky good scorer. Mo Harkless is going to be a very good player. Barnes is very solid player, but IMO both MKG and Harkless will surpass him. There were a lot of good rookies from the 2012 draft.

But in this draft I see just as many good players as last season. No one as high as the top pick, but a lot of players who can play 10 years in the NBA.

This.

Perhaps the smartest thing the Wizards could do is trade their pick for Henson plus Milwaukee's later pick. Use Milwaukee's pick to get Doug McDermott.

Henson's better than Dieng. I think Henson's a deceptively good scorer. He does more than rebound and block shots. All he is is trapped in a numbers game and now IS the time to get him, fugop. I agree.

You people are deluding yourselves. Henson is not in the slightest bit available. Teams don't trade young big men who have shown promise in their rookie seasons.

The Bucks traded Tobias Harris. I liked him last year

Harris could become a Carmelo-type scorer and is better at rebounding and other things. Milwaukee signed Ilyasova for big bucks (no pun intended) and they traded a great, young talent.

What exactly did the Sixers receive for giving up last season's promising rookie big man Vucevic and the rights to Moe Harkless?

Philly learned they gave away a promising big man for an arthritic big man who they'll have to overpay to keep.

nate, teams mess up all the time. The Wizards might be able to pry Henson away because the Buck fans love Larry Sanders and ownership is financially committed to Ersan Ilyasova. Milwaukee might mess up also to get rid of Jennings and/or Monte Ellis.

I said the Wizards were messing up when they traded Rip Hamilton. You probably thought I was deluded then, too, nate. :)

Is there any reason to believe that Cousins will be/is available?

Milwaukee really likes Henson. For some reason, they never seemed to believe in Harris. Even when he started at the beginning of the season, it was obvious they didn't trust him. Henson could play a surprise role in the playoff series v Miami. Milwaukee might use him as a "Lebron stopper" - though a Moute likely figures in that role. Some fans believe the Bucks are built to stop Miami - as Sanders is the type of center that can disrtupt them, and if Redick, Ilya, Dunleavy, and the Jennings/Ellis combo get hot from outside... eh, nah.

Miami would much rather play Atlanta than Milwaukee IMO. The Bucks are dangerous and can attack the weakness areas of the Heat. I say Heat i 5, but Miami will have to play well.

Well if there was ever any doubt that ended tonight after the game Henson had.

John Henson had 17pts, 25rbs, 7blks :o :o :o After that game I'm pretty sure they wont be looking to move him.
And on a side note for the other team Vucevic had 30pts, 20rbs and Harris had 30pts, 19rbs. I don't think Ive ever seen a game in the modern era where 3 guys in the game had THAT many rebounds. 64 rebounds between the 3 players. :o

Well when you look at Monta Ellis' FG% that game (7-27), that could be a reason why. Also for the Bucks, Redick was 6-16, Sanders was 2-9 and Dunleavy was 7-17. For the Magic, Udrih was 6-22. Both teams combined shot an astounding 210 shots from the field, and combined only made 90 (granted it was an overtime game, but still).

As a Wizard fan of 40 years, I want Ted Leonsis to know that I KNEW Henson was this good and that I think Ernie Grunfeld is blessed to be working in the capacity he does.

I think with EG's blessing as a talent evaluator is the curse of players like Vesely and Singleton, when they could have had Leonard and Faried; just like the Wizards could have had Steph Curry years before. They also could have had Paul Millsap.

Many people are learning a lot about scouting. The smartest thing they could do is learn from someone who DOES KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE JESUS CHRIST HAS GIVEN ME THE TALENT TO DO SO.

I have to watch my pride. In the past I thought I knew and I do tend to be very overconfident. Now, I know I am weak but STRONG in the Lord.

If Leonsis and Grunfeld want to have a good draft I believe they can.

That's the complete opposite of the Henson situation. Smart teams don't trade promising rookies. Of course I was against the Rip Hamilton trade because we were the stupid team trading the promising rookie. It was incredibly shortsighted, and Jerry Stackhouse was never anything more than a volume scorer.

You are suggesting that Milwaukee will be as dumb as we were when we traded Hamilton. I think that is extremely unlikely, particularly for the scraps we are talking about with our trade package.

I don't check in here very often but has there been talk about possibly trading with the Nuggets and getting Mozgov? Or just signing him outright? He's buried behind McGee and Koufos and I think he's better than what he's given credit for. The red flag would be that he fouls at a vesely-esque rate.

CCJ, I don't understand the complaint over Henson? I understand frustrations over the '11 draft, but at some point its ridiculous. Apparently its Ernie's fault when any player not drafted by the Wizards scores a basket. We weren't in position to draft Henson or deal for him. Whats the problem?

CCJ, do you still get angry that EG picked Javale over Richard Hendrix? It must sting whenever Hendrix makes a basket. Oh wait...

Seemed like you needed someone to keep you humble. If you need any more help with that, I'm here for ya.

We can't complain about Henderson because Beal is a very good player.

The discussion began with the lack of development of young players (because other team's young players are blowing up this time of season). I wrote words to the effect the Wizards traded that off by going with veterans. Their young guys couldn't develop.

The young talent is not as good as young guys other teams have. That made me recall players I suggested before the draft. This isn't about the Wizards missing on Leonard at all. However, at the trade deadline I mentioned Henson. I also wanted them to trade for Harris last season at the deadline.

Henson might not have been available and this is not worth much more talk.

Thanks, Ruz. :)

Hendrix, Almond, Sweetney, Douby, and a host of others. A couple I said had a shot at rookie of the year before they were drafted. Sweetney is not better than Carmelo Anthony.

The only thing I would caution you on is Seraphin last year. He did exactly what some of these guys were doing and it looked like a success in development. We won't really know what these numbers mean until next season.

Some come off your record due to the statute of limitations. Speaking of which, when Sweetney got to Hot Plate Williams' weight, he became a literal statue of limitations. Too bad - I thought he could play, too.
