Ichiro Suzuki is struggling out of the gate this season, which has brought to light some internal tug-of-war within the New York Yankees this past winter.
The front office was torn on bringing Suzuki, acquired at midseason in 2012, back on a two-year deal. There were some New York executives that would have preferred to see the $12 million the outfielder received allocated to Russell Martin.
