They won't get the 30 million dollar upfront that for sure. Besides that they will get their binding agreement.

That may be actually good news for all parties concerned. If the NBA rejects the move of the team or the sale of the team it eliminates that limbo state of what happens to the Kings if the sale to the Hansen group doesn't go through. They would have already agreed to sell the team. For the Maloofs they still get their price if the competing bid (Seattle's) is voted down. It is a sign they are putting themselves in a position to sell.

It protects the Maloofs in the scenario of the Seattle Bid is rejected and now the sale price changes. There's no binding agreement stating the Kings new potential local group has to sell at the $525/$341 number once their competition is not there.

I think if things are as they seem (because with the Maloofs things are never as they seem) it actually makes a lot of sense. I think also the Friday deadline is due to the fact there will be a decision soon.

The NBA would be thankful to rid themselves of the Maloofs. The mood in the room is nobody likes them! A vote for Seattle is a vote to rid themselves of their family. That will no longer be the case as the Maloofs will be selling regardless.

NBA Asking Sac Group to cover the $30M Deposit. Maloofs in a hurry to keep their price tag. This is leading to Seattle denied!

I changed the title of the thread to incorporate both new developments

The Maloofs can't enter into a contract with Sacramento until the BOG votes. The 30 mil non refundable will only be ponied up once/if the BOG votes no on the sale to Hansen.

You can only be in one binding contract at a time. That's why it's called binding. What the Maloofs have done is cover their bases. If the BOG votes no they take the 30 mil from Hansen and say thank you very much. But if the BOG votes yes they won't take the 30 mil from Sacramento's offer because they are not into a binding offer until the BOG turns Hansen down.

Man **** the Maloofs.

Sounds like the NBA considers the Sacramento offer to be solid, the Maloofs just refuse to acknowledge it at this point. Stern reiterated that the NBA is proceeding with the assumption that the Sac offer is solid regardless of what the Maloofs think.

Also Stern just punked Chris Daniels again :D
Called him out for reporting false issues.

The NBA also considered the first arena deal solid, 'nuff said. Just waiting for the NBA and Stern to spite the Maloofs, you know they want to. Just let it keep going, the Maloofs will sink this ship on their own.

You get that binding agreement in, then send KJ out NY and just thrash the Maloofs in front of the other owners, I mean just tear these bitches apart. Dig up anything you can, The Palms, Vegas, Anaheim, VB, DUIs, partying with the dance a squad. Show how Sacramento had to put up with this **** and still we played nice. Times over for the nice guy act.

Then you tell the NBA owners, "good luck" ever trying to get money from a city that isn't in a massive market.

The Maloofs shouldn't be allowed to dictate ****, they get their money and go terrorize some other poor souls.
