Its ridiculous how many calls the Lakers get from the refs. Kobe falls down by himself injured and a foul is called. Curry gets picked and he's called for the foul. ridiculous!

Kobe Bryant has a "probable torn Achilles tendon," Lakers announce. Bryant will undergo MRI exam on Saturday to confirm.

He'll probably be out nearly a year. Still a chance LA loses their last two games, especially since the spurs and rockets are only a half game behind the thunder and warriors, respectively, and may not have the luxury of resting players for the playoffs. If Lakers lose two, Jazz need to win one of two. If Lakers lose one, Jazz need to win both their games.

Was watching TNT the other night and at half-time Sir Charles, Shaq, and Kenny predicted Kobe would get hurt bad if he kept playing that many minutes. Guess they were right. Looks like he has a torn achillies. Ouch!

Kobe is the type of guy who won't sit unless you make him. I'd blame Dwight for this too, since he was unable to handle more of the scoring load, forcing kobe to play even harder and longer

With Kobe probably out 9-12 months, what's his contact situation like with the Lakers?

I think one more year at $30 mil... gotta believe they're going to amnesty him this summer and sign him back in 2014 if he's able to recover. I also think this makes dwight sign with LA for sure... he knows it's his team now and even if kobe comes back he won't be the same and he'll be another year older...

That's what I was thinking too. I actually would have amnestied him this summer even if he wasn't injured. I like Kobe actually, sad to see him go out like this. Also don't think he'll ever be the same.
