No Rondo, not scared. Rondo always comes up HUGE in the playoffs triple double threat every night.

These old farts are the least of my concerns. I'm looking right past them if we have to meet them, then I"m ordering my new flat screen that week. I gotta see this ass whooping in 3-D

Celtics have been playing Possum staying low key and resting Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce

as a Celtics fan i will give you this tidbit on the celtics

Kevin Garnett is not going to play 4 minutes then sit out, and play a restricted 30 minutes per game like he has all season, he is going to play 10 minute stretches at a time in the playoffs and over 38 minutes per game every game in the playoffs, and that is going to make a huge difference for the Celtics , feel free to take that statement anyway you like, but to me this is going to be a big difference in what kind of celtics team you will see in the playoffs then you have seen in the regular season

the playoffs are another Beast as you should all know, its not like the regular season where a team like Chicago can play all there players 40 minutes per game and win as many regular season games as possible and have no 2nd gear in the playoffs

I welcome the challenge to play the Knicks , they are a very good team and the hottest team in the league right now

It's the same spiel, "the celtics suck now but come playoff time, they'll be another team", yea well so will we. Knicks in 5, or 6 depending on injuries. What I'm more interested abt is how guys and their injuries will come into play. Of course, we all want Chandler and Martin healthy and ready to go, but do you give Sheed, and Amare extra rest (I honestly believe we will win this series w/o them easy) or do you have an alternating roster where some guys play and some rest to keep everyone active but still rested? All hands on deck vs Indiana and Miami.

If you think Carmelo wont break the Heart of thousands of New yorkers your sadly mistaken, think about it this years Roster is probably the BEST roster we could ever put together if this squad cant win it then whats next??? your only potential option is trying to Make some block buster trade that nails you another star to put next to Carmelo.

Yo, you do understand that Anthony's player option isn't until after next year, correct? He's coming back next year regardless and chances are he's not leaving New York City. Ever. He wants his jersey hanging up from the rafter and grew up dreaming of leading the Knicks during his childhood days and that's way before ever winning a championship with Syracuse. His heart has always been in New York and could've forced his way into any franchise his heart desired; but he chose New York as the place to become an NBA legend.

if I've learned anything during my 20+ years of watching the NBA, its that above all else, superstars want to WIN, and they could less than a damn if they go against whatever they said in the past (see Steve Nash).

3 first round exits in a row for Melo would probably be enough to ask for a trade if we dont do anything significant by next years trade deadline. His player option may not be for another 2 years but if he tells the Knicks he is not going to re-up, they may have no choice but to trade him while they can. If he has the chance to play with CP3 and Blake, I'm sure he will not hesitate to make it happen.

that said, in 2015 we will have ridiculous cap space, so if we can grab a Kyrie Irving or a Kevin Love, that might be enough to get Melo to stay here.

Could be a tough 6 game series. But it could be good for the Knicks. It'll build some confidence and toughness that they'll need in the later rounds versus Indiana and Miami.

They're only shot is if Pierce goes into God mode, KG turns back the clock and Jeff Green turns into James Worthy

I think your story would have a different ending had Rose not gone down in round 1.

Playoffs are a different animal. KG, however, is no longer the Kevin Garnett the NBA knows and loves. 48 minutes of playoff KG and whoever is your backup center won't be greater than the value of our Chandler and Kmart.

Celtics are now going small, your frontcourt will be Pierce/Green and ours could be Anthony and Copeland. As a C's fan you have to think this is YOUR advantage. However, do you really think Melo will score less than 30 per game? I don't. Cope, himself is good for another 10 points AT LEAST (his scoring is a direct result of minutes played). For you guys to have an advantage your combo will have to put up 40 points on us. You still think you will get more production?

Lets look at the guards. JR, Shump, Kidd, Felton, Prigioni vs Lee, Terry, Bradley, ?

Tell me how this goes well for you other than magic celtics beans?

If Tyson and Kmart are bothered by injuries for the entire 1st rd then yea celtics have a very good chance at upsetting us.

My Point would not be different if Rose didnt go down in round 1 because it has nothing to do with Rose , the point is a team like the Bulls play the regular season games like they are the playoffs, and when the playoffs come they are the same team. they have no 2nd gear for the playoffs, the celtics on the other hand play the regular season just to play it and then in the playoffs play it much differently

the bulls are like this

Boozer -35 mpg in the regular season - Boozer - 35 minutes in the playoffs
Deng - 40 mpg in the regular season - Deng - 41 minutes in the playoffs

the celtics are like this

Pierce - 33 mpg in the regular season - Pierce - 40 mpg in the playoffs
Garnett - 30 mpg in the regular season - Garnett - 40 mpg in the playoffs

i'd be lying if I wasn't worried. But you know what, if we can't take them out in the 1st round, then this team isn't any different than the last 2 seasons.

Step 1 to the title is to get revenge on the celtics for all the **** they've done to us.

After that we'll face Indiana or Chicago, which will be another heated series since we hate both those teams.

Then the final step to the finals is the Heat, the biggest test. OR if somehow Brooklyn makes it (      ) an eatern conference finals of Brooklyn vs NYK would be epic.

I don't think the Celtics are that good. Indy/Chicago worry me a little head to head. Miami obviously too, but they're pretty much inevitable unless the Bulls get hot and upset them in the 2nd round.

Only two teams worry me in the East. The Heat and The Bulls. I still think we could beat both teams in a best of 7. We need to be healthy and play smart to beat both teams. Don't settle for 3 pointers when we can drive and draw a foul etc.

I think you're the one who's going to be in for a rude awakening. For some reason you think this is 2008.
It's 2013 and the Celtics are not a good basketball team.
