Re: Around the NBA
51 (LAC), 52 (MEM), 53 (DEN), all with 5 games left, this should be fun. 6-0, 5-1, 4-2 respectively would give us a 3 way tie
, maybe give Memphis their only loss in the 5 games, or hope @Dallas or @Houston helps out.
SA and @Dallas need to beat Denver because Portland, Milwaukee and Phoenix are not really, yea. Seems like Dallas is quite involved in the possible outcomes.

Re: Around the NBA
Did you guys see the end of the Rockets/Suns game? I've never seen a finish like that. It was tied up at 98 and Harden fires up a 3 at the buzzer. It takes a high bounce on the rim and after it hits the rim a second time, Jermaine O'neal knocks it off. After reviewing the play, the refs rule that it was a goal-tend and the Rockets win the game.
Either that's one of the dumbest things you could do or O'neal totally has totally gone above and beyond to secure Phoenix the best possible lotto pick.

Re: Around the NBA
Clippers (53-26)
4 games remaining: 1 Home / 3 Road
Home: 31-9 / Road: 22-17
@ Memphis
vs Portland
@ Sacramento
Denver (54-24)
5 games remaining: 2 Home / 2 Road
Home: 36-3 / Road: 18-21
@ Dallas
vs Portland
@Milwaukee
vs Phoenix
Memphis (54-25)
4 games remaining: 2 Home / 2 Road
Home: 31-8 / Road: 23-17
vs LA Clippers
@Dallas
vs Utah
Beating Memphis would give the HCA for LA, so that's the big game. Denver should have 54 to tonight with 4 games left, now, it's still possible for them to go 2-2 and LAC to win 4 in a row and get #3, but they have pretty poor opponents.

My thought exactly. Dallas and Milwaukee are the only hopes left. Denver needs two losses to get to 26.

Reminds me of Al Harrington a few years back getting T's after dunks in both games against us when he was on the Knicks and Clips proceeded to win both of those match ups.

Re: Around the NBA
This has been the season from hell for them.
A torn Achilles takes about 8-12 months to return to the court. About another 8-12 months to get back to where you were (if you can get there). That means he'll be out until around January at the earliest. He's talked about retiring at the end of next season. He's also recently said that he feels he could play 5 more years, but wouldn't. I'm sure that 5 years will not be on his mind anymore, but I doubt that he's going to hang it up at the end of next season either. This will just be another fight/obstacle/goal for him.
No athlete wants to out on an injury. Some do, but those that can return, will try to return and leave the game on their own terms. Everybody thought Chauncey had played his last NBA game, everybody but Chauncey. He hasn't looked that great because of other little nagging injuries. He doesn't plan on retiring after this season, and could very well show a bit more than he did this season in 2013/14. If that's with the Clippers or not, I don't know.
I've seen people throw around the word amnesty on Twitter. Amnestying him means that he would get paid, the Lakers would not have his salary be counted against the cap next season and they would not have to pay luxury tax on what he would be paid. It would make sense if he were going to be out for the entire season (he could then be signed when the initial deal was up), but I truly don't believe that will be the case. So, using it on him would just be in bad taste imo, because somebody would claim him.

Re: Around the NBA
so much talk about the achilles.
the play where he suffered the career altering injury is a prime example of laker biased refereeing.
made me mad watching it in real time.
just remember, u can blow ur achilles, fall to the ground and still receive the foul call.....if ur a laker.
edit:
I'm still sad and devastated by the injury.
i've only wanted to beat the guy....not see him go out like that.
at 24, he's the only person in the league today that I could say I've honestly grown up with...i mean...i hate the hell out of him...but i barely remember the NBA without him in it.

Re: Around the NBA
at 38, i have seen kobe get drafted as a decent young man with an incredible gift and watched him turn himself into the biggest egomaniacal **** of all time before my eyes over his career. i am not sorry that he blew his achillies and hope this is it for him. in football, a guy blows his knee and he is cut without pay. kobe will collect 30.5 million next season to sit on his ass. how could anyone feel bad for that? i still feel sorry for the 2001 sacramento kings players and everyone involved with that organization during that year when kobe punched his way into NBA championship over dead bodies of mike bibby and doug christie. NBA is corrupt and david stern's lapdog got hurt. whoopdideedoo.
this post is not @ you quake, just my personal feelings. i was at playa vista area when i saw the news on epsn while waiting to watch 42 at the rave's theater during my trip in LA, surrounded by laker fans and i was visibly elated while sporting my clipper gear head to toe, glad i didn't get a beat down but i have no love for that young man
