Superman taking over for Kobe - Dwight led title run

The only chance for the lakers to get far in the playoffs in my eyes is if Dwight dominates and plays inspired ball. He is the difference maker and the guy whose ceiling we have yet to see. At this point it's up to Dwight to lead the Lakers to a title run. If anyone can do it, well, it would have to be a guy that has done it before...and Dwight did it in Orlando:

Spurs game w/o Kobe Highlights: Dwight 26 points 17 rebounds

He is a weak-minded crybaby, I don't see him stepping up and carrying this team. In my opinion he will be gone in the offseason.

Dwight will be back and he has hinted he will be back. The guy likes LA. He is playing better and better. Superman returns.

Hopefully this inspires and elevates the entire team. But you're right, Dwight is the key piece and needs to step up and make his mark on this historic franchise. It's gut check time.

Why you slagging on Dwight? I thought you Christians stick together.

Dwight has been pretty good and his volume should increase.

But really Nash has to shine. He needs to be the superstar offensive genius PG that he was in Phoenix.

That is too much to ask from a ailing 39 year old point guard. Nash was brought in to help kobe. Kobe has shown to be much more effective as the floor general at that. If nash can come back healthy I have no doubt he can be a good contributer. But how far this team can go will be decided by if d12 can dominate. If Dwight wants to show he can be a franchise player the time is now.

Seriously i hope he does but i highly doubt it.

All season long we've been saying he's hurt or he just has to get in shape but the truth to the matter like i've been saying all season long, this guy is nothing but lobs & dunks & now he isn't even rebounding. The only hope is he dominates defensively but i can't see it. Dwight is a bust.

The guy does get banged up and abused down there. He has got the injuries to prove it. His free throws seem to be improving. And he has looked good on his post moves as of late so I am surprised you said that. It is weird that he seems more effective with the left hook than his right. Dwight has soldiered the past few weeks and he has obviously improved with his health.

The guy leads the league in rebounding...

You can tell from his post game interview last night how devastated he was about Kobe. I think his respect for Bean has grown tremendously over the year. I believe Dwight is resigning.

I don't have a lot of faith in Dwight. If he could just dominate on defense that is still really all that is needed with him. I trust Gasol and Nash much more to carry the offensive load and I hope they do. But I'm not sure if Nash is even going to be healthy and come back either.

Tbf this is D'Antoni type team now. Spread pick and roll with Nash/Dwight/Pau. We atleast still have a reliable post option in Pau and we can prat that Meeks/Blake/Jamison/Clark keep hitting open 3s.

Last 9 games tell me that Dwight and Pau got this.

Dwight's numbers: 36.9 mpg, 21.0 ppg, 68.0% FG's, 10.6 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.0 spg, 2.8 bpg
Pau's numbers: 36.2 mpg, 17.4 ppg, 59.5% FG's, 9.0 rpg, 6.2 apg

It took them a long time, but it looks like they finally figured out how to play together without really sacrificing because both of them are putting up Allstar/All-NBA caliber numbers lately.

Dwight: This team’s got to ride my back even though my back is still healing. I feel I can do all things & take this team to the next level.

Dwight addressed the team before practice. "We’ve all done special things in our career before," he said. "And it’s time to do it again."

I swear if I see Pau anywhere near the three point line in the coming games, I'll march to Staples and set D'Antoni on fire.

Not weird at all. He has 1 post move & other than that he faces up then usually gets stripped & he has hands like Kwame. So yeah he sucks in the post.
