Plus, don't be lazy. Send an offer for your own player, even if it's just a place holder. IMO your showing your player you don't want him I'f you just sit around and wait for someone else to sign him and you try to match.

For what it's worth, in the Ask the Commish thread, Karma said he was a RFA, implying that Koponen extended the QO.

Actually, I see the Kings got him. I don't understand where or how? I didn't see him on the list of tier 4...I would have signed him if I did. Then when the next tier started, he magically moved up and showed up on the previous tier. Weird stuff.

This was what I was going on. I also have had his QO listed under my contracts section all offseason long. I was under the impression it was understood that I held his bird rights.
