I think it's quite possible that CP3 leave the Clippers for all of the reasons that have been mentioned throughout this thread but there is close to 0 chance that he'll ever come to Detroit. With that said, we need to make the best offer possible - give him the max, spend some money on a quality coach and get some good role players to fill out the roster with the remaining cap space. As a franchise we have to be ambitious if we want to get back to our winning days and as others have said there can be nothing lost in going hard for CP3.

As soon as the clock strikes midnight and Joe is allowed to make some calls he should call CP3... then Iguodala, then Josh Smith
Like it or not they are the premier free agents available. You'll never never know if you never never ask
IF they all say "thanks but no thanks" we move on to other targets.
But you have to make those calls! There is no reason not to make them! None!
What's the worst that can happen? They so no! Who cares? Better to find out straight away than exclude them altogether based on your own opinion/judgement
